My friend Allen Son called me today, to tell me that the Guy that hit Allen with his car, was cleared of Killing him. Eventhough the driver hit him, Allen die from hitting his head on the ground. You wont read about Allen getting hit, or the trial.
Allen was homeless, and he had a substance problem. Allen use to stand on the corner by the Truck Stop, and he use to walk to the trucks in the truck stop, and ask for money.
Allen Son really love him. He was twelve when i met him. He use to stand on the corner, or wait inside, until Allen finished walking the Lot. I only gave Allen money a few times, but when his Son was with him, i would invite them to eat with me. Allen didnt eat most of the time, but would sit with me and his Son until we finish. Eventhough i paid, he would give his Son money for the tip.
I never saw Allen or his Son, outside of the Truck Stop.
One day when i went to the Truck Stop to fuel, i saw Allen's Son walking towards me. He is fifteen now. He shook my hand, and asked me how i was i doing. Before i could ask about his Father, he started to tell me what happen. I felt really bad for everyone. I know Allen's Son Loved him, but the rest of his Family loved him too.
The only reason i can call him my friend, is because Allen's Son told me, that Allen said to him, " Once i get cleaned up, me and my friend Brian is going Fishing"
I didnt get to tell him goodbye, but i will never forget Him, or Allen jr.
