There is no way to do that because of the hardware problems you will have... Truth is your better off buying off craiglist... or buy a new computer that will have windows 8 on it.. just be away though that some people one craigslist is not trustworthly. for that i would dare say buyer beware. your best option is to try unbuntu 12.04LTS Linux this is a windows sub and will run better on your older computer..
