Some landlords are horrible.... The last apartment I lived in I rented from a friend (so I thought).Eveything was good at first. After about a year she tried holding me accountable for things that happened . A water pipe broke inside my bathroom wall and leaked down into her bathroom and caused all kinds of dammage.The basement also flooded and things of hers were ruined. I had a dog when I moved in (she had no problem with) within the year she decided No pets allowed ....then tried to get me to pay a security payment for my dog. Her son broke a door window to my apartment but she said it was my fault because the door was left open.She tried to draw up a 20 page lease after all this with her rules and regulations. I did the same thing as far as getting a lawyer and doing research on renters rights. I refused to sign the lease and she tried to evict me by having a neighbor hand my a printed piece of paper off her computer. Yeah I learned that one the hard way! |

yes...I miss my penpal from 6th grade when we lost touch and quit writing...I still think of her many many years later and wonder how she is

I've mentioned this many, many times before. It's a very simple concept, yet apparently too difficult for most people to wrap their little pea-brains around. There are very few TRUE African Americans. If you live in the United States, were not born in Africa, have never been to Africa, do not speak any African language, etc., then you are simply an American who happens to be of African descent. Other than that, ain't no "African" involved! In other words, if Nelson Mandela moved to the United States, became a citizen and adhered to our laws and government, he would be considered a TRUE African American. Just because a person is black does NOT automatically make them an African American any more than a white person who lives in Africa makes them an American African. That would be as ridiculous as calling myself a German Polish French Canadian American American. Does a black person who lives in Canada call themselves an African Canadian? No. How about Germany? Do they call themselves African Germans? No. It's ridiculous, it's a misnomer, and it's just another way for people to jump on the bandwagon of the lie of "political correctness".  I'll drink to that

Okay so this will probably come across as a generalization but I'm curious. The last 10 guys I've spoken with via email have come across with an almost instant "I love you" and I think we'd be great together. Within 2 days! These are men between 30 and 50 so I'd hope they actuaLly be mature. I'm slamming on the brakes trying to back up and figure out how we went from basic chitchat to a marriage proposal. And I point blank am telling them that I can't make any decision like that till we meet and am certainly not jumping that far ahead. What's up with that? |
