It may also be worth noting that a 32bit OS such as Win7 only supports upto 4GB RAM and depending on which Win7 64bit version, you can reach 32GB RAM. Just a thought :o) Why in God's name would you need 32GB of RAM? 32bit-Casual user. 64bit-Business. 32bit Windows is sufficient enough to do pretty much anything, when you start getting into programming or something like that you want 64bit pretty much for the memory overhead...even then though, there is absolutely no reason to stuff 32GB of RAM into your PC. After 8GB of RAM it becomes redundant, just about every program isn't going to touch more than 8GB's...regardless. Most programs don't use more than 4, always makes me giggle when people stuff their machine with more than 8GB's of RAM. Useless really. To quote "The most important difference between a RAM disk and a hard disk is access speed. The time taken for a hard disk to move its magnetic heads over the spinning disks (much like the arm moving over old vinyl record player) is typically measured in milliseconds (thousandths of a second). Whereas a RAM disk does not have mechanical parts and its access speed is typically measured in nanoseconds (billionths of a second). Access to a RAM disk may be 50 times faster or more than to a hard drive." You're not understanding, the speed is redundant because you can get decent enough speed with 8GB of RAM. Anyone that needs anymore speed than that is just wasting money. No, you're not understanding, I'm not talking about using it as RAM. I'm talking about using it to emulate a hard disk. THe decreased time in I/O speeds up conversions of video dramatically. |

I saw Skyline. Intersting concepts, great spectial effects, and weak story. It was not the worst movie I have ever seen, but it was not great. I've been out of the loop for a bit. Anyone bummed that Caprica got can'd? Also, whats up with all the 2011 Sci Fi push in movies? There is Tron, Battlefield LA, Cowboys and Aliens, Source Code, and some cartoon movie. Jesus, I am not at all surprised that Caprica got canned. It took forever for some momentum to build up in the story. Caprica from my vantage point was not that bad and I will explain my case. Look at SG1, Babylon 5, Farscape, Star Trek TNG, and for that matter X-files. All those great long running Science Fiction shows had no momentum till season 2 or 3 of the show! After the re-boot of BSG everyone is up for fast instant gratification that they can enjoy with other shows currently on that already went through there rough first season. Perhaps that is why the crappy show SGU is still on. You can't tell me Firelfly was lacking in momentum, which was near a perfect show and canned in less than a season. It’s all about the money and not about content or pleasing the fans anymore. I was expecting to be disappointed with Caprica if I viewed them with my BSG goggles. It had a great amount of content to process, a great amount of drama, and no space action. With an open mind watching it, I realized the significance of the V world (what the cylons can still enter in BSG) and a further look at the division between Monotheism and Polytheism which was the same primary conflict in BSG. Caprica was best viewed as part of the big picture. While I see your points, I don't necessarily agree with them. The one thing that I will say is that TV shows ARE made to make money, otherwise there's no incentive for investors to pump capital into them. And while i did say that it took forever for Caprica to get going, I didn't think it was a bad show at all! |

I'm thinking that I need to think of something else other than what is already a constant in my mind. Hahaha! That's a wee bit difficult, laddie. |

Am thinking that I like the storm that's brewing - lot's of lightning! I'm jealous. It's getting closer too - it's been decades since I saw lightning like this in Dublin - not since I was 6 or so! Isn't that right outside of Columbus?....... |

Having met some of the people on another site that shall remain nameless, even the ones that I didn't open up to in any way, shape or form STILL managed to cause drama! The others were lovely people though even (and I hate to admit it) Dan99. I miss Dann99. I know there's no avoiding drama completely. But, I can sure try. I'll text him and tell him to come give you some drama lol If I want more drama, I'll go back into the religion forum. Or politics threads! |

As long as you have some interaction with people, there will be drama. Different degrees of it of course though! Besides, just ignore the dramatic ones, they tend to expose themselves soon enough! True, but you can keep the drama way down by limiting how much you open up to people. It's a trade off, I know. But, for me, it works. Can I really trust you as much as I want to? Trust no one. Lonely, but drama free. As long as you have some interaction with people, there will be drama. Different degrees of it of course though! Besides, just ignore the dramatic ones, they tend to expose themselves soon enough! |
