So I'm at work and we have a commercial washer... I went to grab something from on top of the washer and got shocked and me... so I called the maintanence guy in to look at it and of course... nothing happens. So me, being as hard headed as I am, decided to touch it again and it really shocked me bad who the hell gets shocked toching the top of a washer?? Maybe it's just m electric personality Do you have a belly ring or a tongue piercing or anything like that? I hear that people with those "charge up" extra levels of electric burst. |

A mango... cause I have a mango tree in my mom's backyard and I love it. I planted it when I was just a kid.
I love oranges too, but, hey, that's cause they're on the license plates down here. ::laughs:: |

As well, it is much, much, much easier to lie and hide things from the other in an LDR. My ex decided telling me he had an active warrant for a DUI wasn't important. Oh, and I didn't know about the DUI either, or the fact that he had no valid license and was supposed to be moving here. Oh, and I also didn't know he barely worked and donated plasma to buy cigarettes. He let me buy his plane ticket and never repaid me even half, and at the end flat out stole $200. In sum, he showed me what he wanted me to see and after a few months I put it together on my own. If it wasn't an LDR situation I'd have seen it sooner. Communication and being an open book is key. Words of caution. BE CAREFUL. Sorry to hear that, Lillith, truly. Had a similar experience with a male that turned out to be a complete sociopath. It's easy to say, in retrospect, that I missed or "ignored" the warning signs. It was the lies he told (and the way he told them) that I missed. For as brilliant and intelligent as I am, it's mildly humbling and embarrassing to go through something like that. It's a doubly difficult dealing with the loss of a certain amount of trust and a somewhat broken heart. The ensuing, shall we say, cynicism, that sets in for a while is a necessary evil. |

I love my Rays! And I've loved them since we first got them, NOT just a bandwagon fan here!
I follow the Phillies, too, because their Spring Training home is here in Clearwater. Jimmy Rollins, nice guy, Pat Burrell, nice guy, Ryan Howard, nice guy, Chase Utley, yum! =) |

I met a guy (not from this site) online and his picture was nice, but his words were interesting. I LIKED talking to him. We talked on the phone, agreed to meet... I sat at Ruby Tuesday for 45 minutes, he sent me a text message saying sorry, he was running late. I sat there another 15 minutes (one whole hour, mind you), and this guy walks up and sits down. I said, "Excuse me, I'm waiting for someone." He says, "I know. Me." Looked NOTHING like the pictures he had. The guy was shorter, rounder, balder, older, ever other "er" you can think of. I was really mad... he started apologizing and I cut him off rather curtly and said, "You know, the real shame, Keith, is if you had been honest with me from the beginning, we would be sitting here now having a great dinner, laughing and talking. YOU fukked it up!" |

think about this.... You meet someone online and talk and talk and talk and because of distance you never meet. The two people consider themselves "in a relationship" and tell all of their friends they are "attached" Do you think that some of the people who do this may be gay and are afraid to come out of the closet and do this so that people will leave them alone, or that they then don't have to deal with their own issues? Actually, I think the Internet has given a RISE to the outlet available to anyone to meet people, especially gays and lesbians. We've all seen how there's been an escalation of pedophilia and Dateline NBC wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the Internet. It's not that people are suddenly becoming pedophiles, they always were, it's just that there's more accessibility to the content that drives pedophiles. I think the Internet has opened a door to gays and lesbians more so than heterosexual people- not dreamed of 15 years ago. The very thing that empowers so many guys to say things to women they would NEVER say "in real life" ("Hey sexy, I wanna eat you out", "How big are your tits?", etc), the anonymous factor, helps gays and lesbians who wouldn't ordinarily venture out of their self-wrapped (and sometimes necessary) security blanket. As with anything in life, there's pros and cons. You have to take the good with the bad. Hopefully people are still cautious, yet free to be more of who they are, and to show it to whomever they choose. -Nicki PS: Lily, very interesting topic! |

In all seriousness, I'll tell what I DON'T like... The reduction in manners in society.
Please, thank you, yes sir, no ma'am... I'll take a decent enough fellow who thinks before he speaks (and doesn't just send a "friend request" with NO message, btw..lol) over some muscle-bound grunting dude. |
