Saw that on the news. The accused is also an atheist who has stated that religions in general cause a lot of the problems in the world. Seems there was also a long standing dispute about parking. Better to wait for investigation to be over.

As the police arrived, Wilson approached them and let them know that a suspicious person was seen going in and out of a nearby building. That is when police told her that she was under arrest, and instead of explaining anything they moved to physically apprehend her. Naturally, not knowing why she was being arrested she resisted their physical contact and was assaulted as a result. Clearly, cyberbullying is awful and potentially dangerous. However, where will the balance be struck between the need to find the alleged bully and the protection of someone's basic rights?

In the last decade, the employment of the Buffalo Soldiers by the United States Army in the Indian Wars has led a few historical revisionists to call for the "critical reappraisal" of the "Negro regiments." In this viewpoint, shared by a small minority, the Buffalo Soldiers (Black troops) were used as mere shock troops or accessories to the forcefully-expansionist goals of the U.S. government at the expense of the Native Americans and other minorities. As to the Nisei, they would 'escape' the field hospitals, rear areas to get back to their units or would simply refuse to leave the front line. Escaping the rear to get back to the fighting doesn't sound to me like they were being used as expendable fodder to save whites. Though it would seem that there are some who wish to deny the sacrifices and courage of segregated units. They fought harder because they had to prove themselves as good / better than white troops. I think they succeeded. |

if that was was so true, why were the units segregated to whatever race they were? blacks fought in separate units, Japanese fought in separate units, whites fought in separate units... politicians say whatever people want to hear, like our liar in chief now...
Racial attitudes of the times and fear, the rights movement hadn't occurred as yet. However the segregated regiments usually performed better than their all white counterparts. ... Despite some official resistance and administrative barriers, black airmen were trained and played a part in the air war in Europe, gaining a reputation for skill and bravery (ie: Tuskegee Airmen). In early 1945, after the Battle of the Bulge, American forces in Europe experienced a shortage of combat troops so the embargo on using black soldiers in combat units was relaxed. The American Military History says: Faced with a shortage of infantry replacements during the enemy's counteroffensive, General Eisenhower offered Negro soldiers in service units an opportunity to volunteer for duty with the infantry. More than 4,500 responded, many taking reductions in grade in order to meet specified requirements. The 6th Army Group formed these men into provisional companies, while the 12th Army Group employed them as an additional platoon in existing rifle companies. The excellent record established by these volunteers, particularly those serving as platoons, presaged major postwar changes in the traditional approach to employing Negro troops. The last of these segregated units was disbanded in 1951. Segregated regiments go back to the Indian Wars however where all Black regiments earned a reputation for honor and courage. |

The 442nd Regimental Combat Team was the most decorated unit for its size and length of service in the history of American warfare.[3] The 4,000 men who initially came in April 1943 had to be replaced nearly 2.5 times. In total, about 14,000 men served, earning 9,486 Purple Hearts. An 18-year-old black teenager has been fatally shot by police at a gas station in Berkeley, a suburb of St Louis, Missouri. The incident took place near where unarmed teenager Michael Brown was killed by a white officer in August. St Louis County Police Department said a police officer shot and killed by a man who drew a handgun. A gun was recovered at the scene. An angry crowd has gathered at the scene - a Mobile petrol station. The victim has not been identified by the police, but was name locally as Antonio Martin. Hundreds of protesters are reported to have gathered at the Mobile gas station in Berkeley, Missouri where the teenage victim was killed. The station is being protected by police dressed in riot gear. While at why not just separate towns / cities / states into ethnic- cultural districts. Each can tax their own to pay for that separate policing after all eventually each will say "Why should I pay for their police?". Have armed checkpoints between each to prevent cross-over crime (be sure to have all your papers ready when going to work and to leave at least an hour earlier in case of a line-up). Also to speed other emergency services will require fire / ambulance/ hospital for each district (those nasty taxes going up now).
Remember to throw this out the window while at it.... "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Will also want a good supply of body bags per district since separating people based on ethic / cultural lines with separate policing won't do much to alleviate the situation. |

Wasn't his brother at all. Was a friend. Wannabe hero got his wife clear and took what may have hit her. hater's attacked and a hater died...

In 1982 the city passed an ordinance [Sec 34-21] (a) In order to provide for the emergency management of the city, and further in order to provide for and protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants, every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm, together with ammunition therefore. (b) Exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who suffer a physical or mental disability which would prohibit them from using such a firearm. Further exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who are paupers or who conscientiously oppose maintaining firearms as a result of beliefs or religious doctrine, or persons convicted of a felony. He was on way to replace a surveillance vehicle. I'm sure that the officer he was replacing could have waited the few minutes more it would have taken to safely drive through a residential area. I've lived in that area. Residential housing on one side of the street (Gaetan-Boucher) and a large municipal park on the other right at that intersection. Because there are no charges laid the family receives absolutely no compensation. Even if the Board inquiry finds him at fault the family can't get a thing except an "Oops, we're sorry" Wrong, the family can get everything if they press the matter. Harm has been done and there are remedy's in law. Wrong. Under Quebec law unless you are a direct victim of a crime ( in this case being a parent that has lost a child due to a crime) you cannot be compensated by Victim Compensation. No charges files = no crime committed so no Victim Compensation. Though at the moment all the family wants is ....... a straight answer to the question WHY did it happen? |
