The problem is not just limited to people's lack of manners. There is a general sense of entitlement which plagues certain members of society because they view anyone in a service oriented industry as being beneath them. It is unfortunate because people who elevate themselves (in their own minds) by knocking others down is disrespectful, unnecessary and such an overall waste of energy.

You know your value, so whether or not others choose to treat you respectfully is their problem. I see people like that through eyes of compassion because there is something very wrong with them. What a way to live. I have been exposed to people like that all throughout my life and I refuse to allow them to inject me with their venom. Instead, I set them straight, then give them a most beautiful smile and keep 'em wondering.
