I agree It means a sexual encounter. Like Duttoneer says, it could be misinterpreted, especially on this site with so many non native speakers of English. They may not understand that it's not about cuddling etc. which is also intimate, but sex. It could be confused with romantic intimacy which is not necessarily sex.
