You tell us what they should have done then. Or would you have kept stum?
You didn't answer the question. But that is OK with me.

American Foreign Policy should be in the Dock, not Bradley Manning.

Americans can no longer trust the President, Congress, or the courts to protect them, or the reporters, whistleblowers, and politicians on whom our democracy relies. Our government has been massively compromised by campaign contributions and executive secrecy.

God Bless Whistleblowers.

Manning & Snowden and those yet to come. May the floodgates open and justice be restored .
sure glad you can trust your own Government!
They only ride on the Coat-tails of PRISM!laugh
No Government can be trusted today, that is why we need whistleblowers to keep them in check.
especially if the Tools hightail to China!
laugh
Seemingly China will have nno problem sticking the two fingers up to the Us administration. Pity Bradley Manning didn't do the same. Whistleblowers need to be Protected, after all they have bigger balls than most. What is the point in just existing.

I think the Gunner should be put alonside Manning and both tried in an open court with full disclosure of all the facts and let justice be seen to be done. Apart from that Bradley Manning is the only one in the dock so lets deal with that for now.

Enough evidence exists to raise questions without the shameless charge of "conspiracy theorists"

Some people just love using BUZZ WORDS . And others consider laughing heads to be a contribution. They are harmless really. They would be better suited to the games section.

yea, along with this whole topic...better waste of time to count blades of grass in my front yard then to beleive these CT'er fantasies...

You should seek the truth, not put down those that are genuinely searching for the truth. We know enough now that those who rule us are keeping us in the Dark. Deriding those that challenge the rulers only prolongs your own discontent.

He admits that he is guilty. If you disclosed 700,000 documents about anyone, a company or organization, something is bound to be damaging. Although, I believe he was being patted on the back and probably manipulated; he should know better and get the harshest penalty available. This would also stop a lot of these groups that are springing up anew seemingly everyday, that disrupt life that is troubling enough already. There is also the possibility that he profited from his actions and is concealing it by going "xerox" crazy

PUT HIM IN JAIL
I think he should be put on a special built platform on wheels and paraded through Washington straight to the Whitehouse Lawn. The people should amass in their millions and demand that their Government come face to face with reality . That reality being that millions of innocent men ,women and children have been murdered by military interventions for the past 50 years. Classified information is all well and good but if it were not for the likes of Bradley Manning we would never have known of the callous workings of military .

The guy is a hero.

a watchdog group claims.

Those people who did that are rebels, murderers and criminals. They are not religious, they just claim to be.

They need to be brought to justice like any other terrorist criminal.

lol... these are the people the US is funding right now... can anyone say hypocrisy?....
Not just the US, France and England as well.

it's a matter of opinion... since me or you are not qualified to say what is or isn't war crimes, he can't really say what he did helped anything... you call it murder, but war is hell... obviously we don't know all the details, so why talk about something you don't know about? the NSA blatantly overstepping the constitution is a more serious matter, something that can shake the whole infrastructure of the US... so you think the killing of a few people in a war, which you know no details of, is more important than the government going against the constitution?

If Manning was allowed a fair trial he could easily prove war crimes. The lynch mob are out for blood. He is not allowed to appeal to the Nuremberg Principles. The Nuremberg Laws would clearly condem the Collateral Murder pilots. So the decent way out of this is to exonerate Manning and let the pilots go free as well.

Edward Snowden who leaked the scandal of the NSAs info gathering of ordinary American Citizens has fled the United States. There is no legal mechanism left to challenge the crimes of the power elite. The draconian trial restrictions placed on Bradley Mannings trial will ensure that he is found guilty.

be honest with ya, i think Snowden would be more a "hero" than bradley... snowden found crimes that effect the whole of the US, where bradley dumped war secrets out... they'll hang bradley, he is more guilty than snowden
Now that is interesting. Two whistleblowers. One reveals the collecting of information by the US government on its citizens. The other reveals an American Soldier gunning down twelve civillians two of which were Journalists working for reuters plus two severly wounded children. One is a war crime, the other an infringment of privacy. There is nothing secret about Murder.

Guess by now Manning must be looking in the Mirror and say:"Well, here's another nice mess you've gotten me into,Brad"!

was it worth it?

no, nothing has changed, and nothing will... he threw his life away for nothing...
If more people supported him he would be hailed as a hero. The reason nothing has changed is people are too scared to speak out and more people keep quoting rules and regulations. To hell with rules and regulations, Bradley Manning exposed a terrible wrong and was right to do so, just because people have no balls to support him he will suffer at the hands of the very people you all complain about on a daily basis. Your Government is corrupt, do something about it, support the likes of Bradley Manning who may be naieve but he has done the right thing. The people have the power but are too scared to use it. Speak up, Speak out, don't be ruled by the rich and powerful.

I don't care if someone prays, as long as they're not trying to force me to join in. But, what do you guys get from pushing your prayers on others? Why is it so important that you're able to pray in front of big groups of people like this? What do you lose out on when you make religion and prayer a personal thing, rather than trying to force others to accept it as well?

Sorry if it is off topic but doesn't this apply as well?

I don't care if someone is gay, as long as they're not trying to force me to join in. But, what do gays get from pushing your gay acts on others? Why is it so important that you're able to be gay in front of big groups of people like this? What do you lose out on when you make being gay a personal thing, rather than trying to force others to accept it as well?

Goodness you guys are obsessed with homosexuality. You keep bringing it up in threads it has nothing to do with. But, I'll give my response. I know many gay people and I've never been forced to join in. I've never had gay people push their "gay acts" on me. As for saying you're gay in front of a lot of people, same goes if you're straight, right? All the anti-gay people are basically getting up and letting everyone know they're straight. As for being forced to accept their being gay? You don't have to. They're just asking for equal rights. You don't have to be involved at all.
I think someone wants to come out of the closet

The US Government is not only collecting Metadata of its Citizens but content also. The internet it seems is a problem for The Ruling Elite. Anyone out there young enough to enter Government in the future be careful with your girlfriends and boyfriends photos, they might come back to haunt you one day. LOL
