I truly find this to be sickeningly cruel...the man had Body Dysmorphic Disorder for God's sake...he was/is so often referred to as a "freak of nature"...this disease of BDD is not even mentioned in the media, if but only as a whisper...I've heard ONE medical expert mention the illness, only yesterday, in passing, with no explanation whatsoever to the public as to what the disorder is, and the extremely high rate of suicide that comes along with the disease. I've already shared my essential thoughts about Michael earlier on this thread. Having Compassion for the CHILD THAT ONCE WAS, brutally abused/harmed in HIS most formative years, is not so difficult. A traumatic history does Not excuse any later behaviour he may have had with children, but at the very least it puts things into context. We seem to be able to express outrage for children who are abused or harmed and as well, we should!! Yet I do believe if we can do this, there is some room for having the same outrage, or Compassion, for any CHILD THAT ONCE WAS. |

The world is not solely black or white....so many shades of gray... Some have shared they cannot have sympathy "for a man who hurt children...." At face value, I can understand this yet.... I guess I wonder, is it not possible to have "sympathy" or compassion for a man who was Once A Child Himself, who was also once brutally abused/harmed in the most formative years of his life? For the CHILD that once was? His history does not excuse what he May have done as an adult, but it sure does help to understand some of the apparent problems he demonstrated or suffered from. Nothing comes from nothing. As LA states "let the spirit of the Earth take it's course,," I agree with that whole heartedly. Namaste. |

He was a tragic figure but so very talented. Is it possible to feel "sympathy" or compassion for a man who was ALSO ONCE A CHILD himself and brutally abused/hurt back then?
