no please don't trade them in but if its not fleas then it could be heartworms my dog did both of thos things whe she had them, she started losing her hair and it got corse, she chewed her feet real bad and she started losing weight... but one dose of heartworm medicine and she's starting to get her soft fur back, she has hair on her feet again and she's gained weight.
