Trade them for new ones. i actually considered that, but thought if the roles were reversed, would i want someone to take me to the pound if i was bald and had atheletes foot? |

no please don't trade them in but if its not fleas then it could be heartworms my dog did both of thos things whe she had them, she started losing her hair and it got corse, she chewed her feet real bad and she started losing weight... but one dose of heartworm medicine and she's starting to get her soft fur back, she has hair on her feet again and she's gained weight.

The hair loss could be due to a food alergy. We had a cat or a dog or something with the problem and we switched the type of dry dog food we used and I think the problem disappeared.
The foot thing I don't know about. Apparently, the dog has itchy feet or something. You could look up the problem on the internet, consult vets and/or consult dog people, breeders and such. Someone'd probably come up with some good ideas for you. My dog's relatively normal. He's just stupid as can be. He won't go in his dog house to save his life, but he's mostly Husky so he can take the cold, I reckon. He seems to like it. I won't keep animals in the house, though. I don't like the way they make the place smell. Gotta keep -em outside. I like having a cat outside. My cat's cool and friendly and climbs all over my car to get close so I can pet her. Cool kitty! |

I was told that my dog chews her feet because of allergies to the grass! The vet gave me allergy meds for her and she has been fine since

She is a little over 1 year and she is SO naughty still |

I have 3 dogs. My border collie constantly chews her feet and my black lab loses her hair. My 3rd is normal thank goodness. Any serious suggestions or ideas? Apple cider vinegar. Has many benefits for humans and dogs. Also a hell of a lot cheaper than what you get at the vet and far more effective in a lot of cases. http://www.earthclinic.com/Pets/acvfordogs.html |

she could also just be a worrier.
put a bit (small amount) of vinegar in the fur around her feet...this will discourage her from chewing on them, as dogs don't like the taste. |

Yeah wish I'd known about it before spending almost $90 on ear medication for my dog. The ACV made his ear infection completely go away within 3 days and it hasn't been back. With the vet's meds it was just switching ears.

The Bordie Collie has developed an allergy of some type. Talk to your vet.

My border collie has recurring ear problems. i've spent probably $350 in the last 12 months. I'm gonna buy a fricken gallon and bathe them in it and put it in every orifice. LOL

LOL That would be a little excessive. Just mix some up 50/50 with an even mixture of warm water and apply with cotton balls to the ears. The ACV dries out the ears and is acidic so it keeps the bacteria from growing there. And they won't get sick if they lick it either. You can do a similar mixture with 1 part ACV, 1 part rubbing alchohol, and 1 part water in a spray bottle for their coat. |
