God has a plan and you can't always see it and most of the time people are blind to it even so there shouldn't ever be a reason to question God when he has the Best interest for everyone in mind because it all works out in the end. {Unless you become bitter and curse God then that is a different story}

What part of raping a child is good for that child? It happens far to much, I don't give a FU*K what god does or doesnt do. Quit defending a no good vouyer, This is hell. You can tell me how good it was for you when it happens to you.

Many christians don't (for some reason) seem to make the distinction that all the people in the old testament were either jewish or "idolitors".

But the "god" worshipped is the same one in both books. The old testament god is the "father" from the "father, son, holy ghost" trilogy of the new testament.

So jewish or christian- does it matter? It was the same god who killed the children for the fathers "wrong" doing.
noway

thats what I wanted to know, Its all misguided bullsh*t used to control peoples lifes to get what you want.

I don't know why polygamy was tolerated in the Old Testament. It's an interesting question and one I was asked the other night.

Solomon was the son of King David and Bathsheba. His brother was Absalom (lit. father of peace), but a famous rebel.

Solomon asked God for wisdom and was granted it, but he sometimes did not act on that wisdom. He is a literal lesson that unless we continue walking with God on a regular basis, we stand to lose many of our benefits. My pastor says one can even lose ones salvation by not continuing to walk with the Lord and I do believe one can slip away. Lord knows, I have at times.

That being said, Solomon began well. He built a temple for the Lord and a magnificent palace for himself. He kind of ignored David's words about walking with the Lord (believe it was 1 or 2 Kings 2:3 and 4. He also disregarded warnings against marrying foreigners in Deuteronomy.

Here, there were warnings against marrying foreign women because they would lead their husbands astray and into the worship of idols and strange Gods. Indeed, in those days, worship of some of those Gods could involve human sacrifice, the sacrifice of children. A disgusting practice!

Solomon didn't stop at one, he had hundreds of wives and the son who followed him, I believe, had Jezebel as a wife and the strife and turmoil created by the regime ended up splitting Israel so badly that it was not reunited until 1948.

As for the sins of the fathers being visited to subsequent generations, it works like this: If parents train up their kids in the way they should go, they will not depart from it when they are older.

Train your kid in chaos, you'll reap chaos when they're older.

Train your kids in goodness, worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and missions, and chances are you'll get decent results.

You reap what you sow.

Hopefully, that will begin to explain these things to you. I think it is great to be curious about things that are in the Bible and to ask about them and study them. Appreciate your question and hope to see more from you.

I get that but my co worker said that god killed his sons for king solmans insolance, what a horrable thought
