I was born and raised in WV(stop laughing now!) and I love the quiet. I like the quiet when I want the quiet, not because there is nothing else to do/see. I moved from there over 3 yrs ago after living in VA and NJ also. I seem to like NC very well and although I am not tied to the state, for now its my home and so far the state I have liked the most.

Seriously everyone, I can't tell you how much you have helped motivate me today to keep going. THANK YOU! I will check back in with you in September on this.  
Well you asked for it ..but in all seriousness, stress in life can cause alot of things. I am going through some now of my own and it can be crippling even if its crippling the mind. You did well in getting rid of the stress of your husband. Now you can focus on a more productive and better YOU and your kids will be all the better for it as well. Keep up the good work!!!

The SMELL of home/family

I can recall the smell of fresh linens. But, there were so many familiar scents to say "I'm home", and one of my favorites was Mom making weekend breakfasts. Sometimes for "comfort food", I'll make breakfast for dinner. And, I can still recall the smell of my grandma's dresser where she kept her makeup and perfumes. And, now, I have my parents' old dresser and every now and then, I can smell the years of potions and makeup and cologne and sachets from 40 years ago. And, (my Mom died 2 years ago today), I kept my Mom's perfumes and just have to take a sniff every now and then.
