Broken Puzzles

Inked in fresh wet blood,
Overflowing flood Of pleasures and pains Spilled on life's pages, Splattered drops of rain Write salt stained poems. Tattooed tears fall from Enraged animals Confined in cages, Vividly real dreams Animate unrest, Unsated hunger, Seething human beats. Nightmares never cease Fighting forlorned pasts On paths to find peace, Or at least pieces Thought lost and scattered, Tattered wreckage bits From another life Recklessly thrown out. They've never known me But forgot me not, A spot blotted out And bleached but still there, Wherever this is. "Who will I be now?" "What do I become?", I often wonder, Putting together Infinite pieces Of broken Puzzles That were my life. |

Blood On His Hands
|
|
He heads towards the sea to wash his hands,
Thickly called dirt covers his skin, Grains crust and crumble falling behind, Bread crumbs trailing back to the crime. Sanguine foot prints look black in the night; They follow him from hell beyond. His shadow flees hiding from street lights, Leaving him lonely as day dawns. He inhails, smells sulfur in damp air, Ocean salt and rust as he nears. Thick mist embraces him in the night, Fog hides him from his deepest fears. Silent black tides broke by crashing waves, An errie laugh, but no one's there. The moons reflection beckons him home, A golden path through the unknown. A cherry glows near faceless figures, Stars hauntingly leer the dead. He feels every heart beat thump through him As he replays scenes in his head. He needs to make it to the sea to go home again, To be baptized beneath cool waters washing away his sins |

Where Were You Then

Where were you then?
It's a selfish, self seeking, self important question, But it crosses his mind Time after time, Like a chorus repeating Line after line. Choirs watched while he was drowning, Fighting and gaping for air his hand reached out for help, But they swiped it away saying, "It's an ocean of his own making." Words echoed in his head as waves broke, As bubbles of his last breath were escaping. His lungs burned, Filling with water As he sank below the blue To murky dark depths below. It was there he found a treasure Anchored alone in a water grave. It was there the whole time Waiting to be found. When westerly winds died down And high tide slowly turned, He returned from the sea Dragging a heavy chain. Where were you then? He feel to his knees exhausted, Yet still tugging the rusted links. A curious crowd gathered to watch, Sea gulls cawed in anticipation, Strangers stepped forward helping pull the load, But where were you then? After an eternity it emerged Exposing a forgotten treasure to the world. Finally, you stepped out of the crowd With open arms out to embrace, But he didn't recognize you. It's funny what drowning does to memories, "I don't know you." He said. Thanks for the comments and thoughts |

Beauty to the blind

A blind man contemplates beauty
Feeling the warm sun shining on his face. He stands high on the cliffs acute edge, Unaware of his place near the end of the earth. Blue jays near-by sing gleeful songs While joyfully jumping from tree to tree. He heard loose pebbles bounce, skip, and fall The long way down deep into the chasim below. Having drink from the deepest seas, He still tastes the cool salt water on his face. He remembers cold crisp ocean sprays As waves crashed against sharp rocks caging them in place. Rocks held back floods threatening land Allowing fragile lithe flowers too bloom. They generously share their beauty Filling warm air with sweetly scented perfumes. A blind man smells her fragrant scent Knowing beauty although his eyes don't see. Beauty is not in the beholder's eyes, But in her every touch, true heart, and living free. True beauty is music to his ears, A sirens song for the world to hear. |

She silences the room
Solemnly entering. Hearts slip over lost beats, Lungs forget how to breathe, Eyes sear to memory The vision they behold. My soul chills by her look Beckoning me nearer, Slowly luring me closer Where we tightly hook arms. We talk in hushed whispers like familiar old friends, But I'm a defenceless captive unable to leave. Bewitched by her soft spell, Dazed enchanted crowds freeze Not daring to risk moves As our lithe dance begins. Mesmerized by her grace She seduced to song. We play slow sensual games; Teasingly light touches Dissolve all doubts and fears. Cold hands envelop me In a snake like embrace, Parting lips draw closer Till I feel her faint breath, Then she stops, promising She will be waiting here, But now it's not our time, For hers is the kiss of death, My loving Paramore. Sorry I didn't mean to pay this 3 times and I don't see how to delete the extra ones |

Loves Fool

If I'm honest,
I must confess I've never been Honest before. I've done some things I do regret, But I'm not that Man any more. I have spent some Time should searching, I mean searching For my lost soul. I've found my way Out of my hell, Found the pieces To make me whole. If I'm honest, I was captive To inner fears Held deep within. I never loved, I could not love While deeply lost In mortal soon. Now I'm a boy With a new toy Trying to find Out how it works. I hold my heart Ready to give, But wonder if Her Love Will hurt. I'm ready now To learn the rules, Taking the chance To be loves Fool. |

In dreams I'm drowning
I can't swim, losing my breath In her eyes deep pools. Drifting in dark seas, I see her brightly lit smile Lighting up the night. Peace found for awhile, A soft wind, with her slight touch All storms fade away. I do not need much, Her kisses feed my hunger, Her juice sates my thirst. Let me go under, Leave me to drown in my sleep If she is my sea. |

A Small Cabin in the Woods

A small cabin in the woods
In mountains nestled among trees, Lakeside beside still waters Trout leap and eagles sail the breeze. Isicles hang dangling down, Snow flakes softly fall all around. Smoke puffs fighting nights cold freeze, Winter's white snow blinkets the ground. Squirrels chatter gathering nuts, Blue jays dance lithely to and fro. Pine scents hang in the cool spring air, Fresh green saplings sprout up to grow. Near-by an icy Creek seeks rest, Autumn leave paint the forest red. Sunsets turn the sky golden Leaving some glad summer's dead. A small cabin in the woods To enjoy peace, beauty, and the shortness of life. |
