It's not about being liked..it's about being slammed by an entire thread because they chose to ascribe meaning to something; meaning that was never your original intent. Then they won't let you tell them they are interpreting it wrong. It's like they think they know what is going on inside your head better than you do. It's just annoying.

I have the same problem. Most people who know me understand that I have no problem saying what I mean. I am very blunt and outspoken. So it irritates me to no end when I say something and people decide that it means something else. No matter how much I tell them that wasn't what I meant, they want to ascribe their own meaning to it. It's maddening. So now they are all worked up and angry at you for something you never said, because in their tiny pea brains, they believe that you must have meant whatever it is they are mad about. And they are so into being pissed off, they dont' believe you when you tell them what you actually meant. I would think I would know what I mean better than anyone, but no, they insist they know what I meant, even when it wasn't what I said.

It's enough to make a person just give up.

Yes, and you have to be very careful who you send things to as well. You never know what hands it might end up in. Don't write anything in an e-mail that you wouldn't want published in the newspaper.

Just keep taking your meds. Even people who don't need to take meds have up days and down days.

You just have struggle through the down days and remember that the up days will come back.
