He got off way easy. I kow of a case down south where the guy running the show got 30 years for the dogs and another 10 years for injuring a property inspector with one of the traps that he (the dog owner) had around hid property---so 40 years!!! It's true you can look it up :). Vic lied, AND got busted doing drugs AFTER admitting the truth...so.....yeha he got off prety easy....
