I commend you and congratulate you on breaking those archaic stereotypes and gender roles! You say however that in response, guys used to get annoyed. Could it be that they are annoyed because they are presented with something unusual, and therefore uncomfortable? What if you followed through? What if When you approached a guy you liked and he got uneasy and annoyed, and instead of you backing off, explaining to him in a calm friendly way your stance? Stay persistent nicely. Chances are he'll warm up to you!!
