What would it be, 9 years ago, I was a Republican. During the Shrub era, I began to lean in a different direction as I saw where the Republican party was going. But I didn't actually change my party affiliation until Palin.
It's my personal opinion that the Republican party needs to die out. History has shown the rise an fall of different parties as the top two political affiliations in this country. While the Republican party is currently still too numerous to just die out, the number of people jumping ship to the Independent party may be a good indication that the Republicans are on their way out over the next few decades and the Independent party is on the rise. Oops, not really strictly on topic of the OP. But more a comment on the comment that the GOP was going down the tubes. |

It's sad and beautiful and heartwarming all at the same time. A letter with a baby picture found on a dead Japanese soldier at Iwo Jima was finally returned to the family of the soldier.
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/20/nyregion/20iwo.html?no_interstitial It's three pages long, so I didn't want to past it here. |

I'm contemplating going downstairs to Old Chicago for a Mt. Dew. I've had no soda in 5 days. I have a withdrawal headache. But it feels a little silly to go in just for a soda.

Lost Dr. Seuss Poem

We had the great desk migration at work. Several people were moved all around the building. When I got to my new desk, the former occupant left that poem for me. We all had to move our desks around at work so everyone was facing north. They said we had negative energy in our office cause there were people not facing north. WTF?? Sounds like someone in charge of your office had a Feng Shui moment. They moved us at work because J hated his desk, T was where she controlled the front door and she had to big of a workload for it anymore, I'm taking over T's desk and I have no idea why they decided to move H. |

My help for getting the cabinets fell through. I'm going to have to measure my car and see if I can get the boxes into it.

She looked at the cover. Decided it was a fantasy novel. And thought she was good to go. It did work at shutting me up. If I said anything about it, I knew she would take the book away. And I would never know it the person ever got home again. I hate not knowing the endings to books and shows more than anything.

The funny things is that when I was 16 she took Pet Cemetery away from me. She had read it and didn't think I should read it yet. She had NO clue what I was reading. She had no idea what she was buying half the time.

For some reason, based on the way some people talk about work, I thought more people would get a kick out of this.

Back in high school, my mom would pick up books books to keep me quiet and keep my sister and I from arguing. Lots of times, she would pick up something in the gas stations. It used to be that you could find a spiral wrack of westerns and science fictions novels in every gas station.
I liked fantasy and science fiction. So she, over time, bought several Gor books for me when I was between the ages of 13 and 16. I never told her what was in those books. |

I Love My Job!
I love my job, I love the pay! I love it more and more each day. I love my boss, he is the best! I love his boss and all the rest. I love my office and its location, I hate to have to go on vacation. I love my furniture, drab and grey, and piles of paper that grow each day! I think my job is really swell, there's nothing else I love so well. I love to work among my peers, I love their leers, and jeers, and sneers. I love my computer and its software; I hug it often thought it won't care. I love each program and every file. I'd love them more if they worked a while. I'm happy to be here. I am. I am. I'm the happiest slave of the Firm, I am. I love this work, I love these chores. I love the meetings with deadly bores. I love my job - I'll say it again - I even love those friendly men. Those frendly men who've come today, In clean white coats to take me away. |
