My brother and I

my brother and I,
we're bright,
but like christmas lights,
we're two completely different colors...
and sometimes I blink in and out of brighness, I confess.
He's so brilliant, numbers to him are nothing,
books he devours,
and physics is a joy,
but hand him an emotion, and he'll try to calculate it,
with puzzling results.
My red to his green,
emotions, I can handle,
conflict's a breeze,
a born mediator,
novels dance in my head,
but math? No joy there.
Two peas in a pod, side by side,
growing up, he was there,
in both peices of a broken home,
he was my constant.
Now we're supposed to go live as individuals?
No fair,
considering he forgets to consider
that he should actually reach out of his head sometimes
and find other people.
So hard to drag him out of his world these days,
I miss him,
adventures in the woods with pointed sticks
and dreams of Narnia.
I look up to him, but only by a few inches,
I swear I'll catch up someday.
Such a complimenting close kinship,
seems rare in turbulent times,
but he's still my brother,
and sometimes we still adventure,
my brother and I.

4 years too many
trapped in a desk again
words roll off
where does practicality begin?
I learn about books
not about lives.
Words leave distance between me,
and my emotions.
Must I choose between living and listening?
God I'm so confused.
In this night, in the dim light,
with music to dim senses,
and words to dim wit.
These essays, the bane of my existance
proving nothing but verbosity.
Mere letters, burnable, shredable,
absolutely destructable,
won't even mark my passing for an instant.

I went through cancer at 5, and my mom went through this same kind of thing. Just remembering that everyone back home was on her side helped a lot. I hope things get better for you both! Much love.

Toss up between my cat Zorro, who was the first cat that was officially MINE... and our cat Ziggy, who was part Maine Coon, who was really laid back and loved to cuddle... both of them dissapeared quite a while ago... it was sad, because for the longest time you keep hoping they'll come back.

Umm... yeah, that's why I put in the etc. because I can't write an infinite string of numbers in a post.

Also... I hate valentines... so why should I give a darn about steak and bj day?

I have no patience for sniping... but I'm all for good explosions!

Yeah we had some wind too... I was being blown down the hill on the ice. It was kinda fun actually... and now I want to ice skating/regular skating... Anyone want to go?

I'm finally back in the "south" (the south being... well... Massachusetts...) so hopefully I'll see some warm weather soon.

Hey, I just got back from "spring break" (yeah right). The snowbanks at home were taller than I am... brr... Anyway, I was away for a week, but now I'm back. So how've you all been? Any exciting developments while I was gone?
