There was good news and bad last Thursday. The good news was that the Cancer is DCIS (no one dies from that) and there was no invasion. The bad news was that we did not get clear margins on one of the 4 boundaries and that I must undergo another lumpectomy on the 17th. I am very scared. If the next doesn't go well, I will need a total mastectomy.

was successful last Friday. I had the lumpectomy. The surgeon decided to put me out for it with general instead of just using "twilight sleep", because she had to do "a lot of digging", as the anesthesiologist put it. I took longer than usual in recovery because my blood oxygen level kept desaturating. There were breathing exercises to do to wake my lungs up again, but I'm still not sure it wasn't the monitor at fault.

I'm very frightened, but am trying not to think about it. Pathology results within the next week. I would have fallen apart by now if Michael was not with me throughout it all. He has been wonderful, caring, compassionate, funny. Always there when I needed him.

And....I'm very grateful for all of your positive thoughts, energy, prayers, and support. Please keep it coming.

I am bisexual and have had partners who were female. I'm fine with having Gay or bisexual male friends, but for some reason, it wouldn't work well (in the type of relationship dynamic I need) if my primary male partner was actively bi or Gay. That is just a personal preference. That being said, it is ironic that most of my primary male partners have been bi (albeit not active).
