There's plenty a good tune in an old fiddle!.

A quote from Ted Ray-
'There maybe snow on the roof, but the boiler still works!'

Apart from 'film noir'-those 40s/50s black and white films starrring the likes of Humphrey Bogart and Dana Andrews,I quite like the 'Carry-On' series(Ooh Matron!)and that British classic 'Passport to Pimlico'.I also like Woody Allan's 'Radio Days'.

I still watch 'Coronation Street' and it's 'cool' to see Dennis Tanner back after all these years.Sad to see Betty Driver pass away and to note she was a vocalist during the 30s/40s.

As for books I quite enjoy biographies(auto, etc)and anything about old radio.

Call me 'old fashioned',but I quite like the 'songstylists',or vocalists.
Amongst my 'top' listing are Matt Monro,Keely Smith and Frank Sinatra.
Nat 'King' Cole is another favourite, especially his album 'To Whome it May Concern'-a 50s classic! Both his brothers could also turn out a good tune- Ike and Freddy.
