Apart from 'film noir'-those 40s/50s black and white films starrring the likes of Humphrey Bogart and Dana Andrews,I quite like the 'Carry-On' series(Ooh Matron!)and that British classic 'Passport to Pimlico'.I also like Woody Allan's 'Radio Days'.

I still watch 'Coronation Street' and it's 'cool' to see Dennis Tanner back after all these years.Sad to see Betty Driver pass away and to note she was a vocalist during the 30s/40s.

As for books I quite enjoy biographies(auto, etc)and anything about old radio.

I haven't seen all of the Carry On films, but the ones I've seen I've enjoyed, of those my favorites would be Carry On Teacher, and Carry On Screaming.

If you like radio themed movies, you should check out Who Done It?, with Abbott & Costello. Bud and Lou try to solved a murder at a radio station.

And Radioland Murders, set in the 1930's, pays homage to the old screwball and mystery comedies of that era. Especially Who Done It?.
