Been Catholic since the day I was born and never plan to change it.
Am overly well read on theology and theories of Christian thought, would be more than happy to discuss anything with anyone. For those of you anti-catholics who would try to explain to me that I am not christian, I hope your ignorance doesnt cause you to forget to stop at the big octaganal red signs that say STOP, because you are already approaching "public endagerment" levels of foolishness. |

As a very excellent priest I know once put it,
"holy people go to heaven, not happy or good people" That being said if your heart is clean and you are seeking God following it isnt such a bad idea. |

Thank you for the advice! You are too kind :)
It's surprisingly difficult to put what you want in a potential partner into words. Requires an evening of coffee and introspection I think! |

They are certainly interesting, but not worth considering as canon most of the time. We Catholics did a better job then people give us credit for back in antiquity, most of these "lost" books are quite fake or have gigantic problems of historiography you know :p
Gnosticism is however a fascinating, if at times bizzare thing to study. |

SEX OR NO SEX?

This has always amused me.
If a man respects a woman, he will wait. End of story. Having been in about a dozen awkward situations (could probably write a book, would be amusing) where I've turned women down, I'm not just some religious zealot who has spent his life locked in a basement saying this. I enjoy women. I like the physical affection. But last time a checked I wasn't an animal totally governed by instinct. 99 percent of men in the world need to grow some morals and learn a bit of self control. But if you make sex purely physical, which is what not waiting does like it or not then you are wasting something really fabulously special. Like...having a supercomputer and just using it to play tic tac toe. When you could be doing so much more with it. I'm not saying be judgemental of people who aren't virgins. But if you personally want to wait, it is your call and your call alone. I believe it's the right call by a long shot because it shows a great deal of respect for yourself and the person you were destined for. I'd say it's worth the wait but I can't speak from experience yet because I haven't met the mythical One. I can say however that yes people do wait and if a man doesn't respect you for that, he isn't worth ten seconds of your time. I have an enormous deal of respect for women who want to wait. And have the moral courage and self respect to stick by it. Unfortunately I seem to run into the other kind more often than not. You are worth more than a sex object. Trust me, there are guys out there who want more women who will slap someone talking to them like a blowup doll than going along with it |

Machiavelli "the Prince must be willing to sacrifice his very soul for the good of the State"
The essence of modern statecraft makes it virtually impossible to rule a country solely based on sound ethical principles. And, in a democracy like our egregiously flawed system, where you have the choice between what on many days feels like Dumb and Stupid, it's impossible to make politics a moral issue. As a conservative catholic yes I believe abortion is wrong and no I will never vote for a candidate who endorses it UNLESS there were significant mitigating factors. For example. Candidate A would like to completely disarm the United States and fully open the borders. But he is pro life. Candidate B has a rational view of the world and presents a sound plan for ensuring the survival of the country beyond the next two weeks. But is outspokenly pro choice. Candidate B gets my vote. |
