If you're like me, you probably think falling in love over a modem is unusual and perhaps even rare. But, like me, you would be wrong. Perhaps the very nature of a web site devoted to poetry brings these couples to the fore, but I have been amazed at the number of people I've met through Passion that have found their significant other on-line. Some have met through email, some through chat or forums, some through personal ads. All have found a connection, that elusive thing that binds them to another human being.

when the end times roll around
and a decision is at hand
will you be able to say with clear conscience
that you had made a stand

where you at all judgemental
about what you thought was right,
did you do the right thing
or did you act out of spite

when the day is upon us and you face HIM on your own
can you say that you did your best to make this place a home?
did you put aside your fear
or let your ego lead the way
when you finally find the TRUTH,
will you be afraid to pay?

we are all perfect sinners with imperfect souls
may we all be guided by the light
no matter what unfolds.

A man meets a gorgeous woman in a bar. They talk, they connect, they end
up leaving together.

They get back to her place, and as she shows him around her apartment,
he notices that her bedroom is completely packed with teddy bears.

Hundreds of small bears on a shelf all the way along the floor, medium
sized ones on a shelf a little higher and huge bears on the top shelf
along the wall.

The man is kind of surprised that this woman would have a collection of
teddy bears, especially one that's so extensive, but he decides not to
mention this to her.

After a night of passion, as they are lying together in the after glow
the man rolls over and asks, smiling, "Well, how was it?"

The woman says, "You can have any prize from the BOTTOM shelf.

If Love is a Universal emotion, then the pain it often causes (some might say inevitably causes) is equally Universal. Yet, that only begs the more important question: Why do sad poems and stories of emotional pain bring each of us a strange kind of pleasure?
