Now that I can do... especially this late. I can't put the sign out because they will call the office and get my boss. She gets pissed when she gets called after 8pm. Well do it...Hurry, if possible. Just say you had to attend to some personal business that was urgent if asked. |

Is it your bar/restaurant? Get somebody you trust to relieve you for some days of the week and relax. (Easier said than done, I know.) It's a Bed & Breakfast... a small motel. It's not mine, I'm the Caretaker/Innkeeper. It's slowing down now so I will have more down time, just no days off. It's a seasonal job, supposed to be done at the beginning of November but I'm quitting a month early Like right now, I'm still waiting for a guest to arrive so I can't go to the store like I need to. Thanks Von, my job is pretty much 24/7. I'm an Innkeeper and basically have only had two days off since Mother's Day. Both my bosses are workaholics and close to 70 so think everyone else should be able to do the same thing. Been in the business myself for decades, so understand you. Hard and unappreciated job. If only people knew. I get down time, just not time off that is guaranteed to not be interrupted, so my mind is always in work mode. I try to turn it off but can't. I function better when I can clock in and out and have two days a week off. Is it your bar/restaurant? Get somebody you trust to relieve you for some days of the week and relax. My thoughts exactly! I'm not staying for October. Pretty much all my issues physically and emotionally are directly related to job stress. This just isn't the right kind of job for me. It's really hard for me to admit that, I feel like a failure because I can't "cut it"... but I'm not a failure, I have been doing it... it's just not worth going crazy over anymore and not worth the physical pain that flares up at any given moment. Like it is now... I'm still waiting for guests to arrive. Never feel like a failure because of stress. It hits everybody in this society. We're being brainwashed to expect to much of ourselves. Not healthy. |

How come some people get more ignorant with age?
Shouldn't it be the other way around? Shouldn't we get more open minded and accept eachother more? Why I ask is because I see a tendency around the world with hatred.... mostly among the elderly. Is it because they wanna hang on to what they once knew, being afraid of might come? |
