On a night when the stars threw, their shining spears
Quietly, a gentleman broke down in tears. He had suffered emotionally for many years For his dear ones, he hid his fears. Possessing a pure heart, oh so gracefully grand The sinless soul, always extended a helping hand. But people poisoned him, with their deceiving demands & to his own problems, none wished to understand. People took for granted, his kind deeds Like parasites, they savaged him with their needs. Like predators, they enjoyed seeing his heart bleed They smirked when for mercy he used to plead. Now back into his eternal darkness, turning All his bloody soul within him, burning. With smothering sadness within him, churning He screamed in silence when none was observing. He tears their parasitic roots from his heart He silently cries, being wounded in the dark. He leaves the tranquility of his torture unbroken As he reflects on all the lies to him that was spoken. He abandons the parasitic people who had betrayed From those parasites, he silently drifts away. Going his separate way to them he says F*** you all & have a nice day. Parting away, as he states this bitter-sweet wish He crawls, in his tormented radiant bliss. To his parasites, he blows a final farewell kiss Thus, he gives them a taste of love, that they'll forever miss. |

You’re welcome... it’s an old song that’s why you haven’t heard it I guess yes the lyrics very so intriguing that I couldn't resist myself from Googling more about that song and I found that it was a song from 1985. That is like 8 years before I was even born. Thanks for the recommendation though I truly enjoyed listening to the song. |

Your topic just brought this song to mind : That's a lovely song really liked the lyrics. Heading to YouTube to hear it . Thanks for sharing such a glorious song. Broken Wings Mr. Mister Baby I don't understand Why we can't just hold on To each other's hands This time will be the last I fear unless I make it all too clear I need you so Take these broken wings And learn to fly again And learn to live so free When we hear the voices sing The book of love will open up And let us in Take these broken wings Baby I think tonight We can take what was wrong And make it right Baby it's all I know That you're half of the flesh And blood makes me whole I need you so So take these broken wings And learn to fly again Learn to live so free When we hear the voices sing The book of love will open up And let us in Take these broken wings You've got to learn to fly, learn to live, love so free When we hear the voices sing The book of love will open up and let us in yeah, yeah Let us in Let us in Baby, it's all I know that you're half of the flesh And blood that makes me whole Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah So take these broken wings And learn to fly again, learn to live so free And when we hear the voices sing The book of love will open up and let us in Take these broken wings You got to learn to fly, learn to live and love so free When we hear the voices sing The book of love will open up for us and let us in Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah I don’t know if you’ve heard it but it’s a nice song. Thanks for sharing your thoughts again |

They say in our realm a divine bird did dwell
Whom the angels addressed as Raphael. His songs made every man's heart swell At least that's what the ancient legends tell. They say Raphael's spiritual soul illuminated our sun & the beasts hearing his mystic voice did run. The moon blushed whenever his melody begun & the stars in awe were left sparkling stunned. Once flying across the night's dark shore Raphael was trapped amidst a storm's ruthless roar The vicious winds broke his wings to the core It seemed the radiant Raphael couldn't fly anymore. From falling down, Raphael couldn't avert Like a meteor, his body violently crashed on earth. His body ached, as all his veins were brutally hurt Raphael was physically decimated in the dirt. Amidst his tormenting pain, Raphael didn't cry Not a single tear dropped from his eye. With his broken wings, he tried to fly Impaling the storm he reached for the sky. Although Raphael wasn't physically the same Yet a hopeful song in his bosom did remain. He sang that hopeful carol that eclipsed his pain A superlative song... that thrilled every mortal's brain. Hence, whenever we feel dead inside Amidst the pain, we must learn to smile. Even with our broken wings, we must rise For true grace comes at a painful price. Note: Through the medium of Raphael the bird in this poem I wished to convey that in life our hopes are like our wings with the help of which we dream & we fly, but there comes a time when we are confronted with unpredictable stormy situations in our lives that break our hopes. When we are battered & bruised by fate's unpredictable twist we mustn't forget about our goodness, our inner beauty that resides in our hearts. We must rise with hope & courage not only to evolve as a stronger individual but also to conquer the various stormy situations in lives without compromising on our dreams, for true grace comes at a painful price. |

I saw you shuffling on a dark dreary night As you drew away from everyone's sight. From everyone you tried to hide your plight With your demons as you had a fight. Ensuring your traumatic tales didn't reach anyone's ears You removed the mask, that you wore for years. Concealing your depression, you drank your tears You burnt, you bled, dreaming about your fears. Wearing your mask, you would skillfully pretend As on you, others used to frivolously depend. A helping hand you would always extend Instilling hope, other's broken dreams you intended to mend. With time your mask got engraved on your skin Behind your mask, emotionally you died within. Although alone you suffered from fate's diabolical sin Yet flashing fake smiles, you held up your chin. While your soul gets annihilated with pain You bury your demons inside your brain. Your crown of thorns you rise to attain Amidst the chaos, your mask you wear again. About your problems, people will never have a clue Even if life may bruise you black & blue. They'll never understand what you've been through Because they selflessly, can't wear the mask as you. Note: There are times when for the sake of your loved ones' happiness it's easier to pretend a fake smile than to express the true magnitude of your sadness to them. It's at this juncture of life when one chooses to wear a mask. A mask that although can kill us from within as we try to hide our tears behind it, but it can also craft smiles for others as it imbues hope in the hearts of our loved ones that everything is alright & that they can depend on us. This poem deals with the emotional turmoil that goes behind that mask that all of us adorn every now and then. |

It’s a nice a poem... I could relate to it as most times I should be strong for my family. Thanks for sharing. Life does gives us a 100 reasons to break down but sometimes in life all we need is just one reason to still keep moving forward & that is for the sake of sustaining the smile of our loved ones amidst the storm of chaos. Thank you for sharing your precious thoughts. I'm glad you liked my poem. |

No, it didn't upset me personally but I recently lost a friend to suicide because of his depression. He hid it very well and your poem made me think of him. His demons were finally too much for him to bear sadly. Oh sorry to know about your friend. To be honest with you in the past I went through a similar dark phase of life.. I'm completely over it now, but having had a first hand experience about such a thing. I wanted to talk about such stuff that otherwise the society brushes under the carpet, hoping that it would express the seriousness of the of the emotional turmoil that sometimes we go through. Thank you for your readership, I really hope that your friend's family get the strength to overcome the loss. Your kind comments always bring a smile a smile on my face
