Most people think never. I disagree. I mean, what gives you the right to stand in the way of your friend finding true love? Yeah, chances are it won't last, but it might. Here are some scenarios.
1. You broke up with your ex. Well, who are you to and try to control your friend?! YOU ended your relationship! Why should you care who your ex goes out with?! Now, WHY you broke up with your ex may be a factor. Did they cheat on you? Well, your friend knows that and is choosing to do something stupid (let's assume your ex cheated with somebody else). Simply tell them that it's a bad idea so you can say "I told you so" later. Then drop that fool. Was the breakup amicable and/or mutual? Are you still friends with your ex? It's normal to feel a little hurt and miss what you had, but maturity is key on these situations. 2. I think the length of time after a breakup is important. People who have been in a relationship should wait at least as long the length of their relationship before dating somebody again. So if you were in a relationship for one year and have been broken up for two years and are basically over the person, why would it bother you that your friend wants to date them? 3. What if your friend has had feelings for your ex as long as you have, or even longer? And what if all along your ex had feelings for your friend as well but but chose you? It didn't work out. What if they're really the ones that should be together? Let your friend and your ex act on their feelings and be grateful that you weren't cheated on. Feel free to add your thoughts and other scenarios. |

Why is there no search option? There is a thread I created a long time ago that I am trying to find merely by clicking through the pages but I can't. Also, the "My Topics" page would be more helpful if it displayed every thread a user has created and posted in seperately.

Tradition, eh? I guess us women should cover ourselves up completely, not work, and not vote! We should also keep our mouths shut. Everyone knows only men are allowed to have opinions!!! Our statuses as "persons" should be revoked. Then we will be living the way we are supposed to!!!

So instead of being selfish and expecting gifts, why don't we ALL go around giving gifts to people who deserve a bit of cheer in their lives, like homeless people or hospital patients??? With my cheap budget of buying items for a dollar, I could do that.

Well, I don't believe in it. If I was in a relationship, I would show my partner that I care all year-round. I would not celebrate Valentine's Day. I WOULD NOT want any gifts. Anyone who wouild not understand this and who would to celebrate with me would not longer be my partner.

You got it! There are not enough independent thinkers in this world; hence our fast decline as a planet.

$50? That is a lot of money. What makes you think you deserve to have that spent on you? Stop being entitled. And $5 for a card is a lot. I get my cards at the dollar store!!! In fact, I tell my friends that if they want to get me a present for my birthday to just go to Dollarama. And as for giving sex in return for gifts - well, that's just a form of prostitution. Why should people plan financially to buy you gifts in the future??? It's the thought that counts, not the amount of money spent on someone for any occasion. And I hate all holidays except for Hallowe'en; which is not considered an official holiday.

It's such a double standard on part of the female. And it's ridiculous that rich people seek child support. THEY HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR CHILDREN!!!!! In terms of average folks, nobody should be having children unless INDIVIDUALLY then can afford to do so. I mean, what if one parent dies???

I hate corporations, but they would not exist without us. Why wouldn't they take advantage of an opportunity to make more money if people are willing to sell it???
Here is another example that really pisses me off. How come women want child support from their baby's fathers, BUT WHEN THEY ARE PREGNANT THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO GET ABORTIONS BECAUSE "IT IS THEIR BODY" EVEN IF THE MAN WHO GOT THEM PREGNANT WANTS TO KEEP THE CHILD AND RAISE IT?????????? |
