Tears Of A Shattered Heart

When I watched her grow up
In those child rearing years,
I never would have thought
The day I came to tears.
For now in her teen years
Ready to get wed,
The day I lost her trust
Is when my heart bled.

I never thought that I would be pitted
Against her sweet will,
But the agony that I suffer
Is no kind of thrill.
My first born of three, that I love
I never thought I would endure,
A love between a father and daughter
I thought, once was pure.

What do I do now God
I have tears of a shattered heart,
It feels so heavy laden
With a love I can't impart.
I thought that I could trust her
But I have been turned against,
I have tears of a shattered heart
With pain, I do wince.

Since I have seen the movie The Bucket List...I decided it was time for me to come to make my own Bucket List. Because we never know when it may be time for that moment when we need to experience things in life, that we otherwise would never have done. So here in poetic form is my Bucket List.

A Bucket List Of Dreams

I have sat down and written
The things I have yet conquered,
So I told myself it was time
To sit down and ponder.
What in this life haven't I tried
That would be exciting to fulfill,
The things that I came up with
Will bring me that ultimate thrill.

I have yet to bungee jump
Letting my life take the plunge,
Hoping I don't hit bottom
And feeling like a wet sponge.
I have yet to take a leap
Out of a flying airplane,
To skydive and freefall
Feeling free of disdain.

I would love to feel the speed
Down a funny car track,
Where all that stops me
Is a parachute on back.
I would love to take the fall
Like a stuntman on an airbag,
When I take that falling leap
All care is not a drag.

But the ultimate item
Of the mystifying plan,
Is to do something
In a twenty four hour span.
Going to the southern most part
Of the Florida coast,
And watch the sun rise up
Out of the ocean I love most.

Then when it has risen
I would take a long flight,
To the western coast
And watch it set at night.
Then whomever my beloved is
I would take them out to dinner,
And know that I have, in my life
Someone I can call winner.
