thats only if all fathers are like that. my dad wasent home much for us, when we needed him he wasent there and when we didnt need him he was there..my parents have been divorced for 32yrs and the last 3yrs hes been there alot for me and most of it has to do with my health, when i had my surgery he was there in the recovery room, and my one sister that had not talk to him for over 10yrs they actually made up,

This one was said from the heart, to my daughter from me. I love all three and no matter what grudge my oldest holds against me, I will still love her with all my heart. It's good your father is making up for lost time and I wish you the best of the days ahead Queenie.

All you ladies are so gracious and I appreciate your wonderful comments.

Dee, my love to you sweetie and I hope that's a good speechless.

Mysti...thanks and hopefully it will inspire other fathers as well.

Missy, glad you liked it and thanks.

Flame1...glad you liked it as well.

Michele...that love will always be there for them till there are no bounds left.

A Fathers Love

You still hold a grudge
Of something I had to do,
That's why I'm not walking
Down the aisle with you.
This was your decision
And my heart is broke,
You flat out told me
In the words you spoke.

The day finally comes
When you say your vows,
Everyone shakes hands
Giving hugs and bows.
I still love you sweetheart
That's what fathers do,
No matter your feelings
I will always love you.

Fathers don't hold grudges
That's a fathers love,
His children are important
Is what I'm speaking of.
Fathers do what's right
To see his family through,
What I do for me
I also do for you.

In the best laid out plans
You are in my dreams,
When I reach my goal
You are in the scheme.
I've cherished your love
Since the day you were born,
Forever and always
Till it's time to mourn.

I will always love you sweetheart
Till the call from above,
I will give you my blessings
And all I'm made of.
A fathers love, knows no bounds
It's endless till eternity,
I'm still your father
And you are a part of me.

I am proud to say that all three have some qualities of their father in them. Thanks Cat, it will be nice to see that angel when he/she is born.

If we could all be so inspired....love it, might have to send it to a friend of mine that sings...if that is okay with you.

I would be honored if you did...hopefully it will be a hit song. A little arranging, male or female could sing it.

Twelve years ago, and I still walk with thee,
I will hold your hand, as you think of me.
Keep me in your memories, for my love is still strong,
As I smile upon you each day, as we walk along.

The spirit of your father guided me to write this. These words he speaks will always be said to you.

The best beach scene of any war movie I've seen. I loved that movie. Watched it time and time again.

Watching Pearl Harbor right now.

Tom Hanks is incredible in that scene (and the whole movie)

Isn't it odd though, that when they hit the beach, everyone seemed to be getting shot except for him? Did the germans know that he was the main character? Great movie though.
didnt you know? he had on a invisible shield that he activated when he got on the beach, doy! laugh

They had those back in the fortys...geesh and I missed out. Sorry Dawn...the only part in the movie I didn't like was when that sissy of a soldier let that german just walk right by him knowing he killed one of his own.

Since you mentioned Ray Milland, you forgot his other B flick called Frogs. That movie creeped me out even though it was low on the storyline.

Yeah, I'd like to know myself who came up with that little diddy Tanya. But you forgot to add the extension to that saying...I'll tell you in an email. But life goes on dear and we struggle until love strikes again. Then we must decide if it is true love or is it just the pitter pating of our hearts. Good luck sweetie.

The only thing that makes the canvas grey, is the thunderstorms that pour down in your life if you let them fade. But you can put an umbrella up over your heart and protect it, so that they will continuously stay bright.
Beautiful written piece of work.
