My roommate asked if I wanted to meet some friends of hers (I've been here less than a month, she arrived here in June), and I was like, "What, you mean, go outside? And meet strangers? *gasp!*"

Let's see, I'm a spinner (making yarn from fiber, not the exercise bike thing), crocheter, weaver, felter, and any other fiber art that catches my fancy, weighing in from the D.C. area.

I used to draw and paint all the time, but got out of the habit. Have been feeling the itch recently, but have been frustrated by the sketches I've produced. Of course, the answer to that is, of course, more practice!

I dabble in all sorts of Arts & Sciences through my involvement with the SCA (http://www.sca.org), a medieval reenactment/hands-on education group. It's a lot of fun, and can take you into many very creative directions!

I'd find it weird & uncomfortable unless, as some people mentioned, it's something more common, like babe, hon, etc.
