sulphur Moon, fragile Twilight

and there You were, not quite Autumn

dressed in fading Summer splendour

offering gifts of fascination

Temptress tantalise

face of crimson Sunset, eyes of Eternal invitation

Soul of wonder

delight my Senses tonight

plans for tonight

lose mind to be found at a later date
let 33 cups of tea go cold cursing every one
get distracted from kitchen to bathroom to plants to guitar to the
maddening creativity of over spontaneous spontaneity

make a list of things to do never to be done
talk to the room in various accents
questioning

more cups of tea gone cold
determined to drink one thats hot
only to be distracted
mid sip by gentle call of books stacked since last
crazy night day night sun up
cast occasional glances at sentimental television that feels its been unloved for too long

shave perhaps
bath perhaps
food perhaps not

exit hurly burly
watch sunrise
stolen flowers
gathered feathers
then back

to

exit once more burly hurly
in a whirlwind
towards town
towards day
towards next night
carrying scars through till sometime

instant sleep

This delicate night, delicious audible seduction.

Sounds I hear now...

Gentle rain drumbeat on a thousand leaves,on blades of grass,on damp tarmac sloshing in puddles.

Distant cry of many seagulls, in bursts, taking turns, louder, quieter, fading gently away.

Breeze rustles tree...

Drone of far away factory machinery...

Seagulls more distant...

Fridge buzzes into consciousness...

Rain still pitter-patter...

Hungry stomach rumbles, mumbling discontented...

Solitary seagull...

Pen scrapes across this paper, I breathe...

Sounds I hear now...

Delicious audible seduction, this delicate night.

glad to see haikus here, thank you

The bumble bees buzz,
Around the sweet scented tree,
In the evening Sun.

As I watch the Moon,
A spider walks across it,
Weaving a new web.

The condensation,
For a moment with Sunlight,
Glints ethereal.

almost everything i listen to is acoustic, its just so beautifully real.

some acoustic essential listening : Davey Graham, Bert Jansch, Nick Drake "Pink Moon", Martin Simpson, Rorigo y Gabriella, all old blues, early John Martyn.

and acoustic african music :Djelimady Tounkara, D`Gary, Rokia Traore

Toumani Diabate with Ali Farka Toure "In The Heart Of The Moon" and "Ali and Toumani" for me it doesnt get any better than this.

I could go on forever but I`ll stop now before I get carried away.

toxic night that crawled into a sunset sublime,
a walk home by misty canal,
two week stubble, amphetamine eyes
that haven`t seen sleep for five short days.

I was crazy at midnight,
bleary eyed, tongue tied,
bound for the east in adoration of a new moon.

it was good to walk by the waters edge,
lost in temptation, passive resistance,
gentle surrender,a wingbeat away from eternity.

in this time of reckless persuasion
softly fall the nights of abandon.

placid sunsets crawl slowly home,
sunsets of bliss hold their breath.

I just became a member today and then by chance wandered sceptical into this forum expecting nothing and then you assault my senses with pure brilliance. Thank you for reassuring me that good poetry is still alive. even that one line "i inhaled cinnamon mornings" is enough for me.such delicious description. thank you.
