All sin is deadly.....whether it be lust, greed, murder, thievery, lying, etc...

In reality, sin is more a condition of the heart than it is an act; we are sinners, therefore we sin. Plain and simple.

The solution to sin is found through the finished work of Jesus Christ. Jesus satisfied God's justice and wrath against our sin by offering himself up on the cross to be punished in our place, so we wouldn't have to ultimately receive the justice we all deserve for breaking God's law. That's how much God loves each of us; that he would be willing to send His son to die a substitute death, that we might live. His resurrection from the dead testifies to the fact that this whole issue of sin has been successfully dealt with, to our benefit, if we would receive by faith what Jesus has accomplished for us.

We can try to be good by not lusting, lying, etc... and as a believer in Christ, I rely on God's strength to walk the walk, but even so, sin still has it's way at times, and no one is any different. Even those we deem to be above reproach (Billy Graham/Mother Teresa) would admit they sin, too. Which is why we all need a Saviour. The bottom line is this: we all need someone greater than ourselves to not only help us with our struggle against sin in this life, but we also need this same someone to provide atonement for sin before God, who we all must stand before one day. His name is Jesus.

"But now the righteousness of God apart from law has been revealed, being witnessed by the law and the prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all and upon all who believe, for there is no difference, for all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God, being declared righteous freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." Romans 3

"...for we declare that a man is declared righteous by faith apart from observing the law... Romans 3

We indeed are declared righteous by God's grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Good word, my friend.

Even our obedience is rooted in the grace of God; it is through the indwelling of His spirit that we are empowered to obey. Obedience is not our gift to God, but God's gift to us. Amazing. It really is all about the grace of God.

Red flag if their "day to day life" does not coincide. Not a read flag if it has to do with periodic acts that are inconsistent with their faith. It's important to discern the difference!

From our conscience comes the knowledge of right and wrong; makes us unique compared to any other species! We develop less or more sensitive consciences than others through various experiences and life factors, but we are all born with a conscience.

Hope that helps!
