Many people on sites like this one have loads of friends on their friend list they barely ever talk to. What are the reasons? Are there practical advantages to this?

OMG, if there's anything I loath more it's attention seekers, primarily women who act clueless or like a victim...drives me crazy and embarrasses me for the entire female population!! You people know the type...this scenario.. Male: you are so beautiful AS: bet you say that to all the women here..hehe.. Male: no, you really are, I bet men fall all over themselves to get to you. AS: oh I wish..I guess I'll always be alone...I guess men just aren't interested in someone like me ... this is where I puke all over myself!!!! WTH??? anyone else annoyed by this?? Almost perfect although there is another type of attention whore that is even more annoying. The ones that feels the need to add their two cents to every subject but NEVER have anything of value to say. It would be funny if it was not so pathetic. |

1)The ability to see the relationship status of my younger daughter change daily on facebook
2)Youtube 3)The ability to answer questions and settle arguments almost immediately via sites like IMDB and baseball-reference.com |

Be careful who you call friend. In the real world I can look someone in the eye and know if they are telling the truth. The online world is rife with BS.

I've met and shaken hands with Rudy Guliani. I've met Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple), and Roy Campanella (Hall of Fame catcher from the Brooklyn Dodgers) when I was ten. I've actually spent quite a bit of time talking to, and was even in the house of Dee Snider.
There are quite a few others I've seen close up and shaken hands with, but that'll do for now. |

You are experiencing "internet myopia." The closer at hand these "great people" are the less great they will seem. You cannot construct a semi-fantasy image when the person is looking you in the eye.
The chances of LDR's succeeding are about the same as local relationships. However, the time invested in one LDR hardly seems equitable with the ability to meet several people a week locally. |
