If he brings you lilies and you wanted rose. We should be happy he brought flowers at all. And if it isn't something you wanted there is a way to say it with out hurting his feelings or belittling him. That only makes him clam up and not talk even more.

I have learned that men are doers and not talkers. If he does something for you take it at face value. Don't look for it to be more than it is. Learn that mans's love language.
