Hi, I am originally from Ukraine but live in Canada for a long time. I also lived in Cuba. So, let me share my own experience with you. My observation is based firstly on cultural difference as well as geographic location. So before moving to Canada I lived in Cuba. I never experienced so much acceptance and love before. So, I would say that Cuba was so far one of the best places where I had very little anxiety when going to anything social. Actually after 2 years I was looking forward to go out. But it all changed when we moved to Canada. I find that people are distant, words sensitive, closed minded and very uncomfortable with each other. You are not alone feeling anxious, it is the north America thing...I've got this bug too, you know after living here for so long. But at least I know that it can be different.
