How are you Janflowerforyou

Getting back to real life...went to work today...

Thanks
Well I guess it is good to get back to your routine but going back to work has to be hard!

Only because everybody has been asking about him..
because it is somewhat of a relief to think about work, rather
than managing his financial matters and going through piles of boxes...

well people are probably worried about you. Death of a loved one is really hard.

Perhaps, but most of them were interested in him....
he lived there for 3 months, and most everybody liked him.

Awww so its a bit of both.He went suddenly right?

VERY suddenly...in the morning he went to exercise class, and was singing songs and telling jokes. Right after lunch he couldn't catch his breath suddenly, and his heart stopped. PERIOD.

I wasn't ready for him to be gone, but the good news is that he
didn't suffer...he was gone practically instantly.

wow that was fast. Was it a heart attack or embolism?

They didn't tell me...and it really doesn't matter.
He had worsening congestive heart failure for years...perhaps
it just wore out at that moment..

I knew excerise was bad!

rofl rofl rofl rofl

Dad made a great role model for the other residents at the skilled nursing facility...he was older and less healthy than most of the others, but he was in therapy doing something every minute they permitted him to be there. He did twice what they asked of him.

He really wanted to walk again, and was doing his part to make that happen. If sheer willpower and determination would have accomplished it, he would have walked up my stairs at Christmas time.

The therapy department loved him, because nobody loves therapy...most of the others complain about doing the minimum...slaphead

How old was he? My dad died at 93...and he hated doing therapy!

Dad was 90. But he worked hard all his life. In his experience, if you just worked hard enough, you could do anything. Probably why he was never willing to quit.
