I have to say I love your comparison of Christianity and Buddhism. It's refreshing to see it through someone else's eyes. I grew up as a Catholic and am now a Nichiren Gakkai Buddhist. I have read the bible and the Lotus sutra. What I found was a parallel belief system with the exception that in Christianity we tend to look outward to Jesus or a saint to solve our problems where as in Buddhism we look to ourselves foe the responsibility of our actions in our life. There are parabols in the bible closely resembling the parabols of the lotus sutra, which I find fascinating.
In other forms of Buddhism you can only attain enlightment through a high priest , however in the Buddhism I practice, it is said that enlightment can be atained in this lifetime through changing your karma. In others you must go through many lifetimes to attain enlightment. In Christianity, you can be "saved" now in this lifetime and gain eternal life(spiritual)in Buddhism you strive for ultimate extinction.

This is what we call in Nichiren Buddhism, Kosen Rufu. You can study all the sutras you want as a buddhist but until you have studied the Lotus sutra, you have not heard the truth.

At times I feel there is so much to give like a lotus flower with never ending bloom. My seed is pure and my petals stay clean amongst the filth. There's love that hurts and love that heals. Love that brings out from within you the part you didn't know existed.
I made this life for myself at some other point in time and the sun will shine on me forever again and again.
I have hope to give, love, and sadness to share.
I have compassion. And through my eye I see your soul full of colors and tears.
