Have you tried to get your task bar back restarting explorer?

Press CTRL ALT DELETE and select Task Manager from menu. (that works for all Windows OS the same)

In Task Manager go to Processes Tab. Find Process explorer.exe (if it's running kill it --> right click -- end process)

Select File menu from main menu (still in task manager) and select New task (Run)

Type Explorer in the text field.

You might get your task bar back that way and will be able to try other things.


If not then your machine needs backup as was suggested before. (Could be the conficker virus which has been out since April.)
