It amazes me! A woman who is driven, works hard, and is successful and the democrats bash her for it. Does anyone else here see the hypocrisy?

glasses I just heard that Sara Palin has been slaughtering animals from helicopters. As a lifelong hunter(rifle and bow) I dont agree with that and I think its the actions of a gutless coward with no respect of nature.glasses So much for her tough gal image.laugh She's just another spoiled little rich girl flying around in her helicopter killing animals.laugh

If that is true then I agree it is a cowardly form of hunting but as far as "spoiled little rich girl" goes, I think that is inaccurate. Her parents were public school teachers. She went to college on a grant for taking first runner up in the state's beauty contest.
 They all say that. Those beauty pageants are entirely rich girls.

Is that your opinion or fact? Can you support your comment? Who is "they" by the way?
 The politicians always say that. And those pageants cost a LOT of money not to mention buying the dresses and all that kinda stuff.

Do you realize how lame the comments you just made are?
The politicians say what? That she wasn't a spoiled rich kid? That you know what dresses cost leaves room for concern. Say a dress costs..... God, I can't believe I am even entertaining this discussion.

Her mother was a public school secretary and her father was a science teacher and track coach. Not exactly what you would consider wealthy by Democrat standards wherein anyone who makes over ten bucks per year is considered wealthy and therefore needs to be taxed until they bleed- at the point where they are in need of the government to provide for them. She went to college on a grant for taking first runner up in the state's beauty contest.

my question is a simple one, why are so many people interested and focused on taking the rights away from "women who chose" to have abortions?

An individuals rights begin at birth until the umbilical cord is severed it (embryo/fetus) is considered part of the mother. Part of her body, therefore her choice. no?

Her choice? The law says it is so it is. Part of her body? No. Say a person is driving drunk and hits a car being driven by a pregnant woman and she dies- does the baby die? Only when it has been starved of oxygen. Should a paramedic arrive and delivers the living baby before that happens does the mother miraculously revive herself? Of course not. It is so hard for some to realize that the baby is a baby. It doesn't miraculously turn human when the umbilical cord is cut. That is absurdity at its best.If an individuals rights begin at birth then you might want to inform all of the inmates who are in the crow bar motel getting a striped tan after being sentenced for the deat of the mother and her unborn child.
huh What rights? huh We have no rights before we are born nor after we are born.huh

Surely you don't expect a response to your questions? Are you on the pity pot? Life is a roller coaster. You can enjoy the ride, hate it and scream until it ends, or get off. Those are the three choices.
glasses We have no real rights. We can be thrown in jail at any second for any reason at all.Our lives mean nothing to them.glasses

Because I find joy in life? I have lived more in these 49 years than many and it was not all good but I refuse to sit and cry about it. Nobody handed me anything. I fought for what I have. Sheltered? Mirror is correct. When a republican stands for good ole family values it means putting women back in the roles that the good ole family values have had in the past. Women lose on this front.

I believe in "good ole family values" and would love to be a house husband. Hatred for your political opponents blinds you to their humanity and differences. Just because someone believes that a family should be a husband, wife and kids doesn't mean they want women shackled to the stove.

McCain wants to take birth control for women off the insurance lists and put viagra on, what does that tell you about how he cares for women's rights.

And do not tell me about hatred on my part, you have shown plenty of your own on this forum.

I agree with you. That is a silly notion that won't come to pass. As far as putting magic beans on insurance? It's a great recreational drug as a doctor friend calls it. laugh

You have a tendency to demonize those who disagree with you. That's sad really. I suppose all Republicans are also racists? Any other slanders you want to use to describe half the nation?
 Republicans love America but hate half the people in it.

I'm truly sorry that you are so blinded by hate. Maybe you are trying to be funny? I don't know, maybe you really believe this stuff. If you truly believe this way, then you might want to see if there are medicines which can reduce the number of delusions you experience.
flowerforyou I wasnt the first person to say that. Itsa quote from John Stewart. And it seems to be true because Republicans are against half the groups in this country (gays, abortion rights activists,ACLU,PETA,the media, etc.) It just seems like they are against everyone.flowerforyou

Painting a group with a giant brush is the perfect way to demonize and eventually illegalize their beliefs. You and John Stewart learned well from Hitler.
flowerforyou Spider--------bigsmile Im actually refering to the right wing politicians and the pundits.glasses Not individuals like you Spider.glasses Also Im not sure its proper to compare John Stewart to Hitler because he is Jewish.flowerforyou

Technically, the right to bare arms is not the right to own a gun. If you look up really old court cases that understood the wording at the time. They said a man that hunted with his riffle everyday would not be said to have bore arms. It is meant that you have the right to be part of a militia.

Either way, this is kind of off topic.

That is the arguement... Although the major purpose of this right wwas for people to defend themselves against this government in the case that it becomes hazardous to their best interests. At least that is according to Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, George Mason, and Thomas Pain. But they probably just means it ok to form a militia that isn't government controlled. Maybe? But it still falls under the whole concept mentioned in our Declaration of Independence where it basically states that if the government at anytime becomes destructive to our personal freedoms we have the right and responsibility to "alter or abolish it" establishing a new government in it's place. So, once again, it was all meant to limit government power.

no doubt your founding fathers are rolling in their graves,,,wait...I think I can hear them clear across over here...!!!

I would think that Mcain choosing a woman to be the next vp....pretty much disproves that he is prejudiced against women.
he might be an oppurtunist, but i dont think she will likely be the type to be a "pedastal" vp.
but than mccain is not also the typical republican either now is he??
