Oh...and in case you didn't already figure it out; If they came to my door and said someone was downloading child porn somewhere in my vicinity...I would get up and tell them have my pc, then ask what can I do to help. No question as to whether my rights had been violated.

I find it odd that this post had to do with child porn; but it turned into a privacy act? This is a horrible thing that has happened to some poor little baby. A horrific incident that plays itself out over and over again. People...if we put as much effort into putting a stop to this bullsh!t...it could be dealt with.

I am shocked more people did not speak up for the shear inhumanity of the chidren of such horrible nasty men. Not of the busted porn viewer, or rights of internet police.

Kat

Not sure what you find so odd Kat, I posted asking questions. Not once have I removed guilt nor shame from man who readily admitted.

I read the article had questions and I asked them, but I am full of questions today waving

See OP

I find it odd that it seems there is a disensitivity to hearing "child porn" and that the rights of an individual over play the rights of a child that has been abused raped and violated. Where is the compassion for the child? Why isnt there more talk of being thankful they found this guy and not why was there policing of other pcs in the vicinity of his... be it wifi or connection of another source?

Why dont we want to know how to help?

I guess I am the only one that will let them look at my pc without question when it comes to trying to help a child in diar need of rescue? My thoughts are with the child, that has to suffer for just one man who wants to view this filth and horror. My privacy be damned.

I am sorry...my heart hurts for these children who can't seem to get help from this horrible event.

If someone doesnt want to be trapped in such a site...then stay out of it. Get out fast. Don't stick around and see what it is...leave it as fast as you can.

for the same reason people have "whined" about all of the past presidents. people will "whine" no matter who is in office and there will be people that "whine" about the "whiners"

That's not an answser to my question. I asked don't ya'll get 'tired' of whining. The obvious answer by the looks of it is NO.

I know that I get tired of whining about the whiners after only two times of doing it.

nah boo...no one EVER gets tired of complaining about this or that.....life is a Jerry Springer show...I'm just here for the Jerry beads laugh

I remember being able to take about 5 minutes of that show, depressed me to no end knowing that people valued themselves that little. When he first came to television his speech at the end was so insightful, until I realized he couldn't have been writing it.

Even Jerry Springer himself has said his show is sh!t.

If someone wants my ip addy...they will find it..it matters not if they are law or perv. A hacker will find anything. So, I know full well that when I open up and type...I am out there for all to see. That is the very reason I am very careful what I say. I KNOW that a key word will open me up to someones eye.

There have been times I wanted to say something about somebody...but didnt because I knew it would and could get the attention of a man or woman of legal stature.

I know when I turn on this pc, I am out there....every single thing typed is saved somewhere.

Therefore I know that there is always that chance of everything I have said on here or any site I have been on can have anothers attention.

Look at the news...employers are now watching our communication to see if we are the type they would want to employ.

Kat

Yes, employers can watch how employees use company equipment on company time. That is nothing new nor is it a secret, it is the companies property and employees must abide by their rules or work elsewhere. (choice )

I am concerned about my rights as a private citizen, nothing more, not making excuses for anyone who breaks the law. I just ask when I am curious or want to find out info.

No no no no....it was said that POTENTIAL employers could look at your stuff. They have been telling teeners to think before posting cause it is a potential threat for their own livelyhood where getting a job is on the line.

I also saw where large companies admit to using it to their advantage. They warned them to be very careful...because they most likely will search them out.

Kat

who is this "they"???

Is my employer allowed to see what is on my terminal while I am working?

Generally, yes. Since the employer owns the computer network and the terminals, he or she is free to use them to monitor employees. Employees are given some protection from computer and other forms of electronic monitoring under certain circumstances. Union contracts, for example, may limit the employer's right to monitor. Also, public sector employees may have some minimal rights under the United States Constitution, in particular the Fourth Amendment which safeguards against unreasonable search and seizure.

There may be some additional rights for employees in California given specific statutes of that state. See the paper by Los Angeles attorneys John Caragozian and Donald Warner, Jr., titled "Privacy Rights of Employees Using Workplace Computers in California," published in 2000.

http://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs7-work.htm#3a

"they" The media...the companies that said it. I watch the news. I watch the job fairs. It was said it is a very real activity being done by "potential" employers. Not by "employers of an already hired employee".

Of course if you use a company pc...you should and must be monitored. I would expect it. Actually I would probably fire you for it. That is stealing time from the company.

Everywhere I see where I have been...it gives the exact amount of time opened and time spent. If it is an accidental click or whatever...then it is timeframed. If they need to look at said pc; they will determine if one has been on that site before. How much time envolved and much more.

I have been duped by bogus sites....clicked out of them almost without looking. I want nothing to do with them. I dont have to sit and look at them to know I want out FAST.

If they question the guilt or innocence, it will be by dumping the pc in question and knowing if they are guilty.

I know if someone in my home was downloading such crap, I would want them to see in my pc to know I had nothing to do with anything of such filth and disgust.

If I ever found out someone did anything remotely like this, in around or on my pc, or network...they better get them before I do.

You know? It just show us that not all things are the same.

Sidewalks or no. What one has another may not.

I think it is cool that this is being talked about. Cause...I am in amazement that far and long ago some cities had them I mean towns or cities (outskirts).

And, it also brought back some memories I had not thought of in a long time. Kind of relaxing thoughts.

I am 55 years old. I know when I was a kid and a young teen...in my state; there were barely any sidewalks to be seen. They were in the cities and main streets for bus stops and walking into town. But the housing neighborhoods had very few. It was very pretty. I am sure we would have used them as well. I remember we had gravel driveways too. Then one day the city came in and tore up the yard and street making us park away from the house to lay down a new road with driveways. wow. We had a real driveway now. I lived in the city. I remember when I walked home from school (yes, we walked home as far as two miles) I always walked either in the street or a grassy yard.

Sidewalks were very rare in neighborhoods.

Even when my kids were young we didnt have sidewalks. I go back every now and then to see the house we had, and there is still no sidewalk. Not anywhere in the area.

The town where my son just sold his little house still has none except where it leads to stores and in the middle of town. Only the newer additons have them unless the people of the neighborhoods want one, then they will get together and submit. I have no clue whether they will have to foot some of the bill. I imagine it would be voted on by the city and justified or not.

I imagine if they linked on his phone connection or wifi, and found what he was up too any other on that network would of course be subject.

I dont care how they did it or why...I am just glad they found this sick sob.
We all know they have keywords they latch onto.

Its the nature of the beast. These threads go on and on with debates and rebuttles and what have ya. Its okay. We make it happen...and get along.
Its okay ladies...really.

But I do agree with her on fox news. It is so left wing. I have tried to watch it for years. I just can't. They piss me off so bad the rhetoric I hear. The blatant lies. I am sorry Rose, with much respect to you...I just can't go there with them.

I do try once in awhile to listen...but I guess my ears just cant take it. It makes me want to go get some cheese to go with their whine.lol

Really Rose, don't take me serious. I am not into fighting, "as much as I can". I still want to be your friend.

I'll like Obama enough for the both of us and you can like...who is it? I truely stumped myself there.lol

Zicam Danger: FDA Warns Against Cold Remedy
By Edward C. Geehr, M.D., Lifescript Chief Medical Officer
Published June 17, 2009

Does something smell funny about the FDA's crackdown on some Zicam nasal products? Lifescript’s Chief Medical Officer weighs in on the ruling and safety of nasal cold remedies…

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) yesterday warned Americans to stop using three over-the-counter Zicam nasal cold products because they can cause loss of the sense of smell, a condition called anosmia.

The products are Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Gel, Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Swabs and the already discontinued Zicam Cold Remedy Swabs, Kids Size.

The FDA received more than 130 reports of anosmia over a 10-year period from people who had used Zicam. Consumers also filed more than 800 complaints with Scottsdale, Arizona-based Matrixx Initiatives, which makes the popular cold remedy.

The problem with N Korea.....is THEY MIGHT!! It is a very real fear. This leader is mad. Mad I tell you. He doesnt care for life...anyones....after all..he has nothing to lose. He is about to die anyway.
This thing in Korea is a big deal to our military. They are afraid of what this could mean.
They have of course been doing tests underground, and they have the tremors to prove it. Earthquakes after also.

I wonder what this is doing to the ground, the vegitation and water ways from there and around the world?
Kat

Has any country, including the US ever given a damn what happens to the vegitation, water etc, when it comes to testing this stuff? Look what happened here in the us a while back. Hell they subjected their own people to this crap...

The leader of NK is a wack job, and is so crazy I think he would rather blow up his own country that see it run by anyone else.

that looks like the 2008 election map

oooooppppsssssss

laugh laugh laugh

It is a map of lingering radiation levels from all nuclear testing.

REEEEEALLY....Where did you get that?? My kids and grandkids live in the upper right of that map in ok. What is this from and where did you get it? I want to read it too.

NEVER MIND....I SAW IT.

I saw this lady on tv. She isnt that bad. Only difference is she is actually trying out loud to make a change in all this junk food in the schools. Most of which comes frozen, and is unhealthy hamburgers and hordogs. Chips pop and candy are everywhere in schools. Bad food that are so fattening and unhealthy for our kids.

Many parents are speaking out against all the bad food being fed to our kids in school. A treat once in awhile is not too bad, but it is everyday in school.

Have you ever visited the school cafeteria? I have had lunch with my niece and nephew. We found out why her kids are so hungry when they come home. The food is not good and it is bad healthwise.

All that sugar and fat just keep you hungry and unsatisfied.

It is cheaper for the school to feed them fatty foods and sugar. Lets face it....how many really want their kids eating those frozen dinners everyday? Or out of a can? Processed meats and fructose?

At least she is trying to help.

Kat

Oh...and bagels are definately out. There are a many calories in a bagel as one needs in a single day.

I agree totally. My problem is more the way she is described as going about making the changes. The quality of the food served is also greatly affected by how much money the school has. Government school food is very low quality and is basically junk food. I agree with the end of the article that she would catch a few more flies with honey.

That is sometimes true. But it also holds true that aggression also gets attention. It worked.

I am just applauding her for taking a stand for our kids. It doesnt cost that much more to feed a lot of kids real food. Actually when you think of it mass cooking is cheaper than buying and storing all that frozen and canned stuff.
They use canned meat as well. Yuk.
A chool would be well advised to make a garden on the land and have a class that grows the fruits and veggies on school grounds. That would be one way to save money and have kids enjoy their works.

There could be volunteer work also. Parents could help. The county fairs sell their animal goods.
Chicken coops out back and let out to feed and walk would get them fresh eggs. With little room needed. A few hundred square feet. The schools have space. There is an alternative somehow somewhere.

And I still voted for Obama, and am proud of it. I know that this crap is going to take time to resolve and there is much to do. A few months?? Helloooooo....you couldnt do it, I couldnt do it, I highly doubt any of us could do any better. This country was and is in a mess....this will take a long time to deal with. I feel and believe that this president has done more in a short while to at least try than any other.

If Obama fails then so be it...I think any other one would have failed as well. I am keeping faith that he will make something work. I mean after all...he has many showing him and helping him to acomplish SOMETHING. It isnt all him. It never is just the president.....no wait....I take that back....son of bush made his own rules.....

Kat
