Interesting "debate" and I've been reminded of a few key points. 1) Money matters more than people to some. 2) Invasion of privacy is acceptable if it stands in the way of making money 3) People are judgemental 4) People will read posts differently and read into them what they want to read when trying to make a point 5) Group hugs can involve groping if it's the right group 1) I very recently learned just how much... 2) I don't agree 3) They can be 4) This is true There was a hint of sarcasm in there. Well, except for the group hug thing.

Just reading along here.....I think one point is this guy doesn't do pot on a regular basis, am I right about that? And THEN found out a drug test was coming up? Appears he is afraid it will be positive over something done that is out of the norm for him. Is cheating on the test honest or not? Cheating on a drug test because you like to have a hoot on your days off is just another requirement of employment. Honest or not is really irrellevant. Nobody should have the right to "test" you for things like drinking or somking pot on your days off. On the job is different and will be quite evident as will be any other drug abuse such as crack, meth or heroine, but it's not likely they would hold their job for long anyway. Dishonest...yeah, but sometimes a necessary thing. Same as saying "those pants don't make you look fat" Ultimately it will cause the work performance to go down. You get high on Sunday night? Chances are your worthless to me Monday morning... Fire them on performance (or lack thereof) issues rather than what they do in their spare time. What they do in their spare time is none of my concern, but when I have someone falling asleep at their desk, my customers are not getting helped as they should, phones are not getting answered, the list goes on..that then affects MY paycheck...Then we have a BIG problem...All because they wanted to get high the night before? Not go to sleep until 3am becuase they were wired on something? Not going to happen...Your fired and I will find someone responsible with better work ethic What if they had insomnia and didn't smoke or drink at all, ever. Would you still fire them when they came in tired? |

It means nothing is simple. It means you can't just go out for a burger and a shake and enjoy... you have to go to this restuarant, or that one, and you can't go to that one because one time in 1989 she found a dead fly on the floor.... It means renting a movie is a chore because you can't just go and rent something new or something familiar and go home and watch it. No, you need to make sure that the DVD plays correctly before you leave the store because she's been screwed before by DVDs that don't play. And if they have three movies for 5 bucks, you have to get three movies instead of one movie for 3.99 because that's a better deal.... You can't go take in a baseball game at the local team's park because the sun is glaring and there's no way you're going to sit in the middle because then you have to walk down the aisle every time you want to get up and why do you have to keep getting up now that you're sitting on the aisle, don't these people know you're trying to watch a game? Why are the bathrooms so far away. I'm not eating a hot dog. Is the car safe in the parking lot? I, seriously, could write a book. I have thousands of examples. Wow that would drive me out the door fast. What I can't understand is the guys who put up ith that baloney for years then want to torture me for someone elses sins. I don't treat people that way. I don't know it is always the really pretty girls that act that way but sometimes I wonder if guys don't put up with it because the girl does look good? Any man willing to put up with crap like that because a woman looks good, has rocks in his head and deserves what he gets.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Although I've known a couple of pilots and this isn't out of the ordinary.
Many are divorced for a lot of reasons and being gone all the time is only one of them. From what I was told, most are male sluts! Good luck though, could be one of the good ones. |
