I think I already said liars. If so, I'll repeat it, because I hate it. Liars should die. Now right now.

... in fact, Free Will is an illusion, a philosophycal concept of the relative kind -- perceived only in relation to other issues...

* Even Randomness is possible only within a finit set:
A set of random numbers -- extended to infinity -- will, sooner or later, acquire a certain pattern.

Nevertheless, to a certain degree, we are Free to exercise our Wills... (But only to a certain degree -- permitted by law!)

P.S. After all, there's a system to every madness!

_________Example by analogy____________

An intelligent person is FREE to do as s/he pleases...
Though, only to a certain extend -- due to various social obligations!

By the same token, the choices we make are always subject to our conscious or subconscious preferrences -- as much as our choices may appear to be random, yet they NEVER ARE.* * *

Just because one isn't aware of those subconscious preferrences, doesn't mean the choice -- planned or not -- is completely random!

God doesn't play dice, and neiether are people -- though it may appear as though they do...

Perception is demonstrably an active rather than a passive process; it constructs rather than records "reality".

Perception implies understanding as well as awareness. *** It is a process of inference in which people construct their own version of reality on the basis of information provided through the five senses. ----- i.e. NOT INTUITION!!

SARCAZM points to one's lack of perceptive skills necessary for constructing the proper version of reality that enables one's comprehension of the subject matter!

* * * We tend to perceive what we expect to perceive.
This tendency of people to perceive what they expect to perceive is
more important than any tendency to perceive what they want to perceive.

Jess642:

Those that trust their Knowing KNOW...
those that don't........ reach for scientific justification.

That's quite intuitive, Jess!
I've always suspected the guys at the Stanford are a bunch of UNintuitive fools!!!

However, paraphrasing you --
Those that have something to add to the discussion DO...
those that don't.......... reach for smart-A$$ expressions to conceal their scientific primitivism!

free will...to do what one wants.. to be spontaneous...to make multiple choices...
if we didnt have those choices/free will ,we would all be predetermined people with no surprises kinda like worker ants...thus i do believe free will does breed randomness

Have any of you made plans yet on how you will pass the time on that day? any good ideas??

Oh yeah, I suggest you buy yourself a cemetry plot ahead of time. Dec 11th, 2012, at 11:55 pm, you arrive there with the bag of snacks and water, and waite. Might take a while, though! But you cannot leave the site -- even for the toilet!!!

However, at exactly 00:00:01 of Dec.13, 2012, you're free to return home, unless your a persistent type and willing to waite a while longer. laugh * laugh * laugh *
