I got the point. Just how do you expect someone who is a kitchen porter to be able to do that. I will not generalize, but I will wager that this person does not have the "skills" required to sell themselves. This is easier said than done, and takes a bit of drive, ambition, smarts etc to pull it off. Of course it would not be "exactly" the same job, not even close. Perhaps starting to learn a new skill, go back to school ....would have been better advice.

Okay, Atlantis, this is the first time I have to disagree with you. What the heck are you thinking? Women can also choose not to have children. Some women cannot have children. Why is that so hard to accept? Not everyone falls into the "career" or "not a relationship" category. I would be willing to bet that most that have decided not to have children, for whatever reason, without regard to another in their lives.

Secondly, what is the deal with pets? I happen to love all animals, but your assumption is that they can be used to fulfill a need. Well, yeah, but pets are not the only thing that does that. I would guess that playing on the computer and chatting in forums like this is by far the highest percentage of person avoiding their lives. Then running a close 2nd, are the people who sit in bars drinking.
I know that you are talking about your own issues but at least make an attempt a being unbiased.

I have had my teeth whitened by the dentist, and it did cost about $500. It takes a very long time and your gums are all covered over because the bleach would burn them. Well worth it. I would do it again.
