kntrygal - it seems like we should go back to the good old days and take
our time. It always seems to me like there is something wrong with
obtaining something too quickly. Especially in relationships, when
people discover the real person after they've decided to live together
and then it's a real mess, especially if a new home was bought and kids

I have to laugh when I see people coming on this site and complaining

I stayed with a Portuguese family while in Lisbon, Portugal. Almost
every single day, the mother cooked "bacalhau", a Portuguese salt cod
that had been previously dehydrated and salted and that had to be
immersed in water for 24 hours before cooking. OMG - to a Canadian used
to fresh fish and beautiful Pacific salmon, this was totally 'foreign'
to me. I am very open-minded about other foods and cultures, but I just
couldn't get used to the bacalhau...

I have to admit, Unsure, that this has been done to me more times that I
want to remember ... Not too long ago, one of them said that he was
separated and living with his brother and sister-in-law. The truth was
that his wife was away for three months and so as not to feel too
lonely, he went to live with his brother for those three months. So he
considered himself 'separated'. LOL

I've learned that I'm a great person to live with in that I don't pay
attention to silly details like leaving the toilet seat down after using
it, and stuff like that. If the guy is what one is looking for at more
meaningful levels, those are truly insignificant details.
