we're just friends

BTW, life is fragile for all of us and needs to be respected. I am a
large man and not afraid in most situations but I'm smart enough to know there are those who could cause me harm no matter what belief in myself I may have. My friend used to have a small dog who would take on dogs five times his size and chase them down the block. He did it for years until one day he met a large dog who ignored the yapping and ate him. |

Jess642,
I have to reply that I open doors for men and treat them with the same respect. My point is that there is too much disrespect for women that too often makes the world unnecessarily threatening for them. If my 78 year old mother were to have a flat tire I would hope she encounters someone like me who would help her without an agenda. I want my 17 year old daughter to find the same courtesy from men. While I respect your independence and find it refreshing, it is never demeaning to be polite. |

Sure, all you Ghandi people, take a walk in my shoes and you book her a
flight to Jurassic Park. |

Perfect day. No phones. Hotel suite, room service, gorgeous beach out
the window, no itinerary, no checkout time. |

Well, what is cried? The catch with the dad scene at the end of Field
of Dreams got me teary eyed the first time I saw it. Yeah, I admit it, but it wasn't crying like a girl, ok? Geez, I need to go hunting or something now. |

I agree, treated with respect all the time, and by everyone.
What happened to the days when every woman was treated like your mother or your sister? It wasn't that long ago. But then the majority of real men disappeared after the WWII generation. My father was one who was all about respect, hard work, and being a man of honor. If I could just continue his example by half it would still be half greater than most men I encounter today. |

I don't mind people smoking in isolated areas far underground but when
they light up in front of me without asking.... |

I'm probably living two centuries ago when it comes to politeness and
manners. I know when a stranger bothers to open a door for me it feels good so it must feel good for the ladies to be treated with respect on a date too. |
