And shell-shock is a common affliction. All I can say is that you're never going to hit anything if you don't give it a shot. That's what keeps me going - I could just sit around and hope that my lady-love finds me, but that's a pretty vain hope. And inefficient.
EDIT Er... I don't mean "hit anything" like "I'd hit that"... >.< (Though that could be applicable to some people.) I mean more like Cupid's arrow hitting someone. |

I thought about putting "Salute Your Shorts" on the list, but I don't remember finding that show all that funny. "Salute Your Shorts" is on the Kindle, but you have to pay for it on an episode-by-episode basis, and that's not cost-effective. ($2 an episode!)
Though thank you for reminding me to put Scooby-Doo on the list. |

Though don't make the assumption that just because someone is posting on the forums, it means they're normal and not-weird and I'm really not helping myself here, am I?

I have a quest! This quest is to find a bunch of old TV shows that I used to watch as a kid, but are no longer available, and to uncover even older shows that I hear were good. I am doing this because 1) I remember that I liked most of these shows, and wish to relive the halcyon days of my childhood, 2) because a lot of stuff in these shows went over the head of an 8-year-old kid, and I want to look at them with adult eyes, and 3) I wish to preserve some of them so I can show my children.
So, the question is this: Do any of you know where I can find/download/buy the list of following shows (preferably through digital downloads or online; I'm trying NOT to become one of those people with a video rack that takes up an entire wall)? I'd like something a little more formal than YouTube or Hulu, because I don't want to have to go back to a website every time I want to watch something. Have any of you seen these available on the Kindle/tablet device? Or perhaps an entire TV series available in one compact set of DVDs I can order? Of course, the rest of you can post shows or movies you're waxing nostalgic for, so that we can hopefully cross-pollinate and see if we can help each other find what we're looking for. And, hey, it's something to do for date night! (Or not-date-night!) The List (subject to additions and changes) Kids' Shows: Denver, the Last Dinosaur He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Hey, Dude (Nickelodeon - I've seen the first two seasons on the Kindle, but I want to find the whole thing) Gargoyles (Disney - I've actually found the first two seasons on DVD, but it was a hell of a time tracking those two down, and I'm continuing to have a hell of a time finding more) Full and complete Scooby-Doo (original show by Hannah/Barbera) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (original '80s version; the newer/est versions are just... meeeeeeeeh...) Other: Dark Shadows (available on the Kindle, but it's $60! Wouldn't mind finding a cheaper version) Xena, Warrior Princess (I have the 1st Season and a "Best of" DVD, but I want the whole series in one go) Hercules, the Legendary Journey The Addams Family (the TV show, not the movies) |

what is the meaning of life?

If you lack purpose in your life, I can give you purpose.
It probably won't be a purpose you enjoy, but since you have none of your own, you don't get to complain. Beggars can't be choosers. |

This is what the site says about uploading a new photo. First, make sure you're not violating any of these conditions, or you can upload it, and/or it won't be approved:
---- Add a new photo Photo Guidelines No suggestive photos, nudity, or obscene gestures No disturbing images or images of illegal activities No copyrighted material You should be in all photos Photos should be in .gif, .jpg, or .bmp format Make sure the filesize of the photo is not too large or it will not upload properly ---- A "too large" photo, as near as I can tell, is larger than 450x450 pixels, but that may just be a wild guess, because the size of my pictures varies widely. |

Depends entirely on where I'm kissing. Some women like it when I make eye contact. I think it's a power thing.

Sex and the married man

Either a few married women are having affairs with boat loads of married men or married women are not as honest as society is led to believe and more married women are having affairs then we realize.
No, no, no - the obvious answer is that there are a lot more married women than there are married men, so percentage-wise, the numbers of married women committing adultery are much, MUCH lower. (Please, PLEASE hear the sarcasm I'm using in this post.) |

For me, the intellectual and emotional traits I admire are:
loyalty, consideration, common interests, and the ability to have a thoughtful conversation. List subject to additions and change. |

As to the belief in and commitment to the Flying Spaghetti Monster... the tenets of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster do not require "Believe in no Deity but the Flying Spaghetti Monster", like so many other religions do. So professing belief in the Flying Spaghetti Monster, then professing belief in any other deity does you no harm; but according to many other religions, professing belief in their Deity, and THEN professing belief in the Flying Spaghetti Monster is blasphemy, heresy, and generally results in you going to the Hell-analogue.

Happy b.d., and happy V.D. ! I just came from the STD thread... but I'm PRETTY SURE RockGnome is NOT wishing you a happy venereal disease. |

I'm with a couple of the above posters in that it would be helpful if people with dangerous STDs registered, but I don't believe they should be registered "like pedophiles". devildog123 summed up the difference very well.
As a point of interest, people working in the pornography industry DO have to register with a system if they contract an STD, as their livelihood is dependent on having safe, healthy sex. (Of various kinds.) |

I don't think looking should count as "cheating" - it's really hard not to look around, y'know, since humans have eyes and all. It would be a greater imposition to ask your significant other to go around covering their eyes so they won't be tempted by any other human being. That doesn't really count as loyalty in my book - truer loyalty would be seeing someone you find physically attractive, but still choosing to be with the person you love (and hopefully find just as physically attractive). It's a lot like going into a candy store and NOT buying all the kinds of candy. It's hard, but you can do it!
Actual action has to be taken, with the intent to consummate that action, before it counts as cheating. If your significant other is approached by someone else, that's not cheating - that's normal human interaction (though if you're standing right there, and it's obvious you're together, then feel free to think the approacher is stupid and/or desperate). If your significant other approaches somebody else, with the intent to flirt or otherwise consummate... yeah, that's cheating. Especially if you're right there. In that case, feel free to think your significant other is stupid and/or desperate. Then drop 'em. |

Things I miss

I miss the heavily-discounted chocolate when Valentine's Day is over... does that count?
This and Halloween are my two stocking-up holidays. Less facetiously... I missing being able to talk to someone about anything. There are things you don't bother talking about with the guys, or things you wouldn't dare bring up with your female friends. But the one you love(d) is the one with whom you can talk about anything. Of course, a large part of that love is them being willing to PUT UP with you talking about anything... That's rare. |
