Topic: Where Is Your Forgiveness Meter?

It is very easy for me to forgive someone.

Just because I have forgiven them, doesn`t mean that I have to hang out with them.

The first part of understanding forgiveness, is learning to forgive yourself.

When you are able to forgive yourself, it is so much easier for you to forgive someone else.

I would have a farting contest with you anytime in an elevator.  bigsmile

So very true...many think they have conquered their demons..actions speak quite loudly , much louder than words.

Let me know when ya wanna take a deep breath and enter the elevator.

I`ve got my diving equipment with me.  bigsmile

I am still trying to wrap my brain around the fact that Ladylid farts.......sure it is kinky and frankly, sexy in a worholesque kind of way.....still, not sure if I can rub one out to the thought of her ripping one loose.

I will let ya know later.

i only forgive genuine mistakes.
people generally know right from wrong and if they knowingly choose wrong then they receive no forgiveness from me. they can take it up with their creator.

for me forgiveness almost implies acceptence.

if i forgive the behaviour, thought, action, etc., am i not condoning it, allowing it to continue?

Maybe, sometimes ...i can forgive, send love and completely walk away. I have done it a thousand times. I forgive for me, not so much for them. I have family I have had to eliminate from my life..I forgive them but I won't ever be in a position where they can hurt me again. My kids I will continue to put up with...because I know that their mistakes are not intentional to hurt me, and it's a mom thing.

but if you forgive, how do you prevent yourself from becoming vulnerable to them again?

i keep my distance (by being unforgiving) so that they can never get close to my heart again, and risk hurting it.

I send them away..I sever the relationship. I keep any contact at a distance..even had to do that with my oldest son at one time. Now were good again. I've also learned to read energy, aura's ..it helps know one's intentions, it's a great heads up.

Like your new picture..cute.

I'm fortunate to be able to forgive very easily because I'm able
to put myself in the position of others and to see all
perspectives of a situation. I believe everyone deserves a
second chance. That does not mean it doesn't hurt.
Where are you on the forgiveness meter? Are you able to forgive
and let go or do you want revenge, wish bad upon one who you feel
has screwed your over...hold a grudge?
i forgive...for me. to hold onto a wrong only harms me, it doesn't harm the person that wronged me.

i let go...for my own personal sense of well-being. forgiveness does not equate forgetfulness.

i agree.

forgiveness doesn't teach right from wrong. therefore, forgiving someone is like giving them a free pass on their transgression. punishment on the other hand is a far more useful tool. every action has consequences and when you make the consequences for improper actions so dire that they leave a lasting impression, then you teach the transgressor a lesson. forgiveness is for children who don't know better.

Maybe true, but when people in my life refuse to atone and repent, they never will recieve forgiveness from me. Sorry, that's just how I feel and I'm being honest. I'll still pray for them though. Good or bad.

forgiveness doesn't necessarily mean keeping them in your life.

i forgive to let go. i choose not to feel negativity...and then i go on with my life. that way, i'm not thinking or dwelling or worrying about it...it's done, it's over, and it's out of my head.

I think mine is pretty high... I forgive after a while almost always BUT there is a limit and a point where I will walk away and stay away...
