Hello! I'm Rob, and I'm looking forward to meeting you.
But first, let me tell you a bit about myself.
It's always a bit weird writing about yourself, so I'm just going to throw out some details of who I am and what I'm looking for in seemingly random order.
I am currently self-employed. I have my own business. I'm also a homeowner (with a mortgage, but it's over half *** off). These things might make it sound like I'm rooted to the town in which I currently reside, but actually it's quite the opposite. I'd love to move somewhere new.
I like all animals, but I currently own a cat. She's a jerk most of the time, but I still love her anyway.
I enjoy creative hobbies, including photography, art (which I'm horrible at creating, but I still enjoy it) and writing. While writing has always been more of a hobby, lately I've given a lot of thought to pursuing a writing career.
I enjoy ***games (though not to an excessive degree), card games and board games.
I have wildly varied tastes in music, movies, tv shows, etc.
One thing about me that might make me strange in today's world is that I do not really do social media.
I enjoy treasure hunting at yard sales and thrift stores.
Also enjoy cooking, especially for other people.
I aspire to be, and believe I am a kind, empathetic, thoughtful, loving person. I'm loyal to the people I care about. I try to help people. Again, especially the people I care about. I've been told I'm a good listener and offer solid advice. I also really enjoy making people laugh.
So what am I looking for? Well, friendships are great, and if all that comes from this is a new friend or two, that outcome would still add positively to my life. However, I am searching for that person I want to spend the rest of my life with, and who wants to spend the rest of their life with me. True love. That's the ultimate goal.
Speaking of love, since love languages seem to be a popular thing to mention in the world today, let me say that I identify fairly strongly with all of them. However, if I had to choose one of the rest, I'd have to go with physical touch. That would definitely be important to me in a relationship.
Now what I'm about to say might seem strange after mentioning the importance of physical touch, but I am very open to starting out long distance. Is it ideal? Probably not. However, odds are the perfect person for me does not happen to live within a very short distance of where I happen to live. So I'm totally willing to do long distance for awhile, as long as the goal is to eventually make it a non-long distance relationship when the time is right.
So, if anything I've said has sparked any interest in you, please don't hesitate to send me a message. I look forward to getting to know you and seeing where it goes. Thanks for reading.
