a 24 year old recent college graduate of the University of Chicago who'll be teaching special education and working on my masters in education through Teach for America starting in June (woohoo), which has been my goal for a long time now! Been wanting to make a difference in the lives of youngins for awhile now... I'm very liberal socially and am a fan of exploring and random adventures; my last night in Chicago started barhopping downtown and ended with my friends and I making a makeshift bonfire on the lakefront, admiring the skyline, and indulging in conversation about anything and everything. Been told I'm chill and very relaxed, which shouldn't be mistaken for slothness (which auto-correct is telling me isn't a word?) or apathy... I just like to lead a drama free life.
I 3 Music; Although I grew up around punk and alternative (Pops was a punk rocker... now there's a good name for a song), all types of music are my cup of tea; currently in heavy rotation are Ride, Modest Mouse, Sigur Ros, Herbie Han, Wilco, and various hip-hop acts (Prince Paul, Atmosphere, MF Doom, ATCQ, etc. odds are if it's good hip-hop I know and love it). I MC and produce beats, along with some minor guitar skill, and record my own music! I consider it a part of me and a form of self-expression; plus I love writing lyrics, poetry, and pretty much all forms of creativity.
The internet and online dating these days is, in my opinion, the equivalent of bars, clubs, and other old social conventions for meeting people.. it's crazy how the way we interact with one another is constantly evolving! So I find myself fishing (horrible pun). I studied sociology and it's also of my opinion that in this 9 to 5, capitalist world we live in, where people spend more time with their coworkers because they have to, that the only thing worth a damn is love; I mean, happiness does not begin with a dollar sign or amount, but with someone else willing to open themselves up to you and put themselves in your hands. Lastly, I tend to ramble and converse a lot lol, so thanks for reading :P
